Does not having a "role model" ( I.E. someone close to you that you respect rather than simply admire) of the the opposite gender growing up skew your view of male/female interactions once you are older? Do you think your views on the opposite gender can change, or are they determined at a young age?
Note: I am NOT just referring to single parent households, or divorced households, etc..
My parents have been married for 30+ years, but it just dawned on me the other day that, while I deeply love and admire both my parents, I don't necessarily respect them.. Especially my dad. And that this foundation flavors my relationships with boys..
