Sailors- Please report for duty!

Are there any Sailors here on dxp-land of the insane, or those who sail as a past-time?

If you could recommend one place (be it country, island, academy or whatever one may call it) for a budding Sailor to go and attend an extended course, where would it be?

Why did you make that choice/recommendation and have you been there?

What is your dream journey to take, on what boat, how long and with whom?

I am a new sailor, currently just got posted to ship, my first sail is coming up, besides doing sea trials this will be my first official sail, we are going to some pretty cool places, will let you know when i get back how it went...I`m hoping it will be fantastic.

🙂 do you know if the sailors still wear white uniforms as ive noticed in pictures, they all seem to wear navy now. my dad's uniform was white....so lovely! 🙂

They are oh so crisp-looking, a completely different time then, as to what is worn these days, an era by-gone, with all the association one can imagine when one mentions a naval man in a white uniform. One can look back on those times with nostalgia...in many ways more than one 🙂

oh yea they still have the navy whites, not worn to much, the men look so good in them 🙂
