Taaaa DAAAAAAA!!!

This is a really big deal because I FINALLY finished this art commission. It's been on hold, slowly creeping along in progress, and sometimes not at all, because while I was married to my ex, I was so far down the path of PTSD that I couldn't focus for more than 5 min. on my art. I couldn't even focus to read more than a paragraph in books, and I love to read. I was having panic and anxiety attacks. Well, those are going away, and I'm getting my mojo back. Behold the poodley splendor! 😄

Thank you, MoonMan. I'm a detail freak....this is where I let my ocd have free rein. I'm still not where I want to be with my art, though. Still improving. 🙂

personally - with facial expression i think MoonMan means the dumbish look that dog breed has. lmfao. 😄 combined with that head tilt - perfect.

Thank you, Nem. Graphite, my specialty and current favorite medium (I love the contrast, plus it is easy to set up and put away when children are running around).

I'm laughing at the description of the "dumbish look" of poodles. This little guy is a very elderly apricot toy poodle.

Ha! good point about goofy expressions on dogs! I think it goes with the territory, though. Google image Moon Moon the husky....there's some hilarious facial expressions going on with a breed that has a lot of physical majesty.

Thanks, and yes, horses are my specialty...or maybe my obsession. The next commission on the plate is a man and his dog (both passed away).

well, in no way am i a pro or reach your level of drawing 🙂 i doodle for the most part. then i also never finish my drawings which gives them a bit of a macabre touch. parts of faces etc. my favourite facial features to draw are the eyes and the mouth - sometimes noses can be fascinating too. i??ll send you a pic or two in private if you don't mind.

Thank you! Can you believe my ex once told me that my art wasn't professional quality? I'm not saying it's the absolute best on the planet, but I do know where I stand in the ranks of graphite art talent. Every time I sell an artwork it's a kick in his face.

Ha! wouldn't that be a kick in his pants! I need to bolster my portfolio. The bulk of my work is commission, so I don't have those pieces in my possession. The ones I do have I'd like to flesh out, and then scout galleries that fit my style .
