Posted by LibrasaurusrexThat's a perfect example of me breaking my own opinions down in a negative way. Truth be told that sentence said "If you can change youself, you can change the world." Then I changed it to "You can't change yourself therefor you can't change the world. The word if could easily go there, but I don't feel it needs to be. Those who chose not to change know who they are, so I'm speaking to them directly.
All true. Except when you say, "You can't change yourself, therefor you can't change the world," to clarify, are you saying that IF you can't change yourself then you can't change the world..? I think so but it's worded funny. You're not saying people are incapable of changing themselves are you?
Otherwise I completely agree. There's a great saying, "If you want to change the world, go home and love your family." The future WILL BE what we teach our children. I feel like children do not receive enough recognition and even respect in this regard. We must treat them with the respect and compassion we need them to bring into the world.

Posted by GetMistedIts all a learning process. In due time. I don't expect others to change, but answers are still better then complaints. If I change for the better my image of the world will change for the better. My mind will change for the better, my advice will change for the better. My ability to reach out and help, feel sympathy, and want to teach a positive light will change, therefor the world will change.Posted by SoulYou can't expect others to change, even if YOU change for the better.
This isn't a troll thread made to spread hate or gain attention. This thread is for actual longterm solutions on the issue with race in America. No bs opinions, but straight to the point.
It all starts with you, and every person as an individual. Stop expecting the world to change for you. We are fucking humans, we adapt to our surroundings. Where the hell did people pick up the idea the world will possibly change for you. You can't change yourself, therefor you can't change the world. That's how it works. But how do you change everything on a large scale? The children. The children are always the answer. I can't remember who posted it, but you're not raising a human child, but someone's parents. The chain of positive equal life starts with you teaching your children to be respectful of caring. Not to be a god awful rebel who will forever carry the burden of all YOUR fucking personal problems and issues. It all starts with you.
If you can accept that, see light in that, or view that as a plausible and natural solution you are truly a part of the issue to human progression, and natural selection will take you out.
Now I can sleep.
You said all that..
To say that you're fucked. The world isn't going to change for the better. You best change yourself and conform to societies ideals.click to expand

Posted by Sssupesreplace the word can't with don't.
It's good in theory but there's a flaw in this.
If we can't change ourselves then that means we will raise our children along our way of thinking and therefore nothing will change.

It's not a theory though, it's common sense. All society starts with the children. Are they learning peace? No. People want to turn them into little hateful defensive savages as they pull the baggage of their parents behind them.click to expand

Posted by GetMistedI won't decide that myself. I'm going to protect myself and those who feel hope in the end though. The test was never a winning battle. It was to divide those who will become the monster with those who refuse it.Posted by SoulThe world obviously isn't getting any better though.Posted by GetMistedIts all a learning process. No other way. No other answer. It all starts with you and me.
Does that mean that no one has successfully become a better person?click to expand

Posted by SssupesOnce more, the OP had some typos. It was supposed to say you can change yourself, therefor you can change the world. But I changed it and forgot the word IF.Posted by SoulYou said it yourself, WE CANT CHANGE OURSELVESPosted by Sssupesreplace the word can't with don't.

Posted by GetMistedThat's the point. You can't change people without control, and you can't control people. You can control what you raise your children to believe in, view as respect, care, and sympathy however.

It means that hope has died.. No matter what you know or what you preach, everyone is going to have their own ideas.. There is no changing that.. and really isn't that what life on earth is all about.. Having your own ideas and beliefs? .. How could anyone expect a positive change when we all have our own way of doing things. We will never all be on the same page.. So focusing on ourselves and becoming the best version of that is the only hope left.. In my eyes. Soul and I are very alike, but he still has a glimpse of hope for the world that I already let die.
We're looking for a solution to racism though.. not a solution to bettering ourselves.

IF you can't change yourself, you can't change the world. Obviously.

Posted by GetMistedBecause the more the generations grow with different race and culture the more that will be beome normal in the eyes of the children and the hopeful. I truly believe we all will come out on top.Posted by SoulI'm not seeing how that is a solution to racism.Posted by GetMistedThat's the point.
