When I turned like 44 I gave everything to my kids. Cars, money, all my energy, my work goes directly to my kids. My Boomer parents still work for themselves. I never got money from them, I never got actually anything from them. They were not there when I was a child, they wont' give up 1 of the 4 garages they stuffed with their worthless shit. Every baby boomer I came across was selfish and self absorbed. I never heard I'm Sorry from them.

What is the point of them being on this planet. They literary skipped helping out 2 generations, but they took everything from them. They went from "all you need is love" to "who dies with the most toys".

Some parents are either selfless and giving or they are stingy as fu... I still get food whenever I visit my mother. It's like she doesn't eat and I end up with so much. Though, immigrant parents are a lot different than entitled rich people..

my gran def that type of baby boomer.

it's hard to understand coz there's something really exciting about buying stuff for your kids, heck shopping in general! funny too coz i'm shopping online rn for our toddler. hot wheels, train sets, a mini workbench and a giant race track. but it's my generation maybe coz millennials and my dad's i think prob a gen x and he def bought me everything tea sets, barbie dollhouse and those flying, twirling fairies you name it. just yesterday we got him a new truck in addition to his excavator. so apparently we're known to spoil and coddle our kids.

but shopping's literally one of the most enjoyable activities ever.

it's nuts to me coz my gran is loaded but she always acting like she can lose everything at any moment.

If my kid ends up being an entitled brat and/or unproductive member of society, I’m definitely leaving them little to nothing. I will not enable that and I think most parents shouldn’t. I will do my best to give them all the tools and resources they need but if they take it for granted, that’s entirely on them.

I was/still am a very good kid 😇

Reminds of me how Mila kunis and Ashton Kutcher are giving their kids nothing.

Millennials are learning to boomer.

It's sad that they don't want to give their children a leg up but instead just choose to push them down and start from square one. What a strange concept.

They've definitely got a leg up. They'll have a good education to start with, and know the right people.

Exactly that. That is the very thing I like in Hasidic Jewish people, they do thing for their kids. The concept of starting from square one is a disease if you ask me. I was lucky I was very successful when young so I did not need them, but my parents have 4 grand children and they still do it all for themselves. They skipped 2 generations with helping and now they are on the 3rd one. Besides not helping, they are in the way in a lot of ways. I started reading online after I posted this and I got scared. Everyone feels like me, but worse. My grandparents were the best generation though.

I started this thread as a therapy, because my father started stuffing things into my garage after filling his to the roof. He is going on vacation for 1 month, and I decided to burn his stuff and teach him a lesson.

Boomer folks are generally a bunch of shit heads who are more talkers and not listeners. They don't listen to no one. They think just because they older than us gen xers they think they have every rights to invade privacies and talk to us any old kind of ways like we nothing but dogs. The same almost holds true to late millennials only except they are more into drugs and getting their heads bad. I swear I wanna lay hands on em. When I say late millennials I mean those born around the early to mid 90s. The older ones are ok, sometimes. I don't give a damn if my boomer mom don't give me shit.

don't spoil your kids while you're alive, help them if they're starving , but you don't owe them "one of your four garages they stuffed with their worthless shit"

Parents should take into their hands the moral education of their kids and put them on aprofessional way, which is what most parents don't do these days and they believe the education system will somehow give them a job magically or their kids will be smart enough to make their own decisions at 20.
