It's hard to be the "smart kid" in the family. Aside from the expectations, they'd convince you to take up courses you'd never even consider had you been given complete independence.
If only I had my way, I would have probably taken up Economics, MA Urban Planning, and take any PhD. I would have been a professor now and a columnist in some broadsheet. I don't mind if it's not that lucrative. As long as I use my mind for something that's interesting to me, I know I would flourish.
I would like to start a newspaper business, a coffee shop business, take photography classes, etc etc etc... and not studying things I hardly care about. I've been doing this since 2004. I don't quit because I don't want to disappoint... yet I am not exactly happy at what I am doing.
