We are oddly alike in this regard....except my fear is more of a hate...and it spreads to sea anemones as well. I have contemplated mass genocide of all sea anemones in South Florida

Sorry, but people who go on and on about hatred of cats usually are fucked in the head.

Seriously, if you think about it, they adore dogs because dogs make them feel oh so good about themselves. Cats are just far too independent and aren't always as attentive as dogs. People see a pet as something to boost their shitty ego and if the pet isn't doing that, then they hate it.

If a cat scratches you, you're a dumb ass that can't handle animals. Period. They don't just randomly scratch you. If you just go up to them and pet them without them really knowing you, then yeah, they'll shred you. How would you like it if someone, who you barely knew, just came up to you and started playing with your hair or touching you? If it's your own cat doing this, they haven't bonded with you because you're doing shit wrong.

Any time I've had people tell me the garbage that the drunk/high16 year old is saying up there, usually they are fucking morons in handling any animal, tbh. Sadly, a lot of people do not know how to interact because they either have no experience or were raised to think animals are just objects to own, not another living being who you accept into your home as a companion.

Overall, it's bizarre as fuck to me when people have some retarded fear or hate toward dogs or cats. Get the hell over it. Just because you suck with animals doesn't warrant hating them all. :/
