This reminds me of one lady on one show on TLC. She had a huge amount of cats, knew them all by name & even made birthday parties for them. I found it sad because her neighbours & co-workers said she had no human friends. Her cats, I guess, were her everything. It was very odd to see the outside of her window at night, hearing her saying, "good night" after a bedtime story & then turning off the lights. I believe that some people have very unhealty attachments to their animals.

I think that I agree. Animals are amazing and can make great friends but they shouldn't be a replacement for human interaction. Humans are social beings by nature. We need other people to function whether we like it or not.
