...some great newer songs (past few years or so) in this thread, if you know of any! I'm talking truly memorable songs. Not some stupid-but-catchy-3-minute-POS you'll get sick of after a few listens, please.
Yep, I commented on that in the "worst feature" thread. That's the best new song I've heard in years, so if you have more suggestions, I'd love to hear them.
Thanks, everyone. 🙂 Please feel free to post as many songs as you'd like, too. I'm always looking for good new music, and I'm sure others are, as well.
Cypress Hill and Beastie Boys are bar none some of the best rap groups that ever existed. They helped pioneer and make rap explode onto the scene as rock music became polarizing and unfortunately politically driven in the 1990s. Political activism was a huge reason why rock music started to die in the 90s, and rap simply filled the hole for a lot of people.
Barenaked Ladies, Spin Doctors, and Eve 6 tried to keep music fun and exciting without the "let's all hug a tree" mishmash splintered and drove lillith fair style rock movements into exile.
Personally, I have very eclectic tastes ranging from all of the aforementionef bands, to the likes of Van Halen, Boston, Rush, Fleetwood Mac and Smashing Pumpkins to Diana Krall, Chris Botti, and the late greats James Brown and Barry White.
mainstream music seems like garbage to me. i'm not sure if it's because ALL of it is overplayed or what.
It's almost as if there are 5 songs that get played on repeat. if there were 500x as many, then I think we'd appreciate it more. It's not bad... just severely overplayed.
