What are your vocal ranges? For guys it's Bass, Baritone, Tenor, and Countertenor. For ladies it's Soprano, Mezzo-soprano, and Contralto. Tenor is the highest for the guys and Soprano is the highest is the highest for the ladies. For me I'm a Bass and Baritone with a 3 octave range. I've been trying to hit Tenor so that way I'd have hopes of covering Victim of Changes by Judas Priest, or at least Painkiller. But yeah, what is your vocal range?

I can sing anything from Tenor to Saprano. However, that came with practice singing in gospel choirs and as a gospel/church soloist.

Think "Take me to the king"..."Dear God" &..."Washed Away" by Kirk Franklin. My comfort level depends on my mood (better moods have me singing away in Soprano).

I'm always placed in the Soprano section though, because I can hit the high notes on key, in tune, and at massive volumes.

I remember being impressed by women who could sing tenor! I couldn't even sing some alto notes 😢

In my case it used to be painful as a Soprano, but when you're singing with only 3 other people and there are unison parts in Tenor...you have to belt that ish out. I used to sing at local special occasion venues (church concerts, musicals, community festivals) so there's no holding back when you only have 4 voices to begin with. Now I only sing at churches by special request and in karaoke bars. Lol

I did. So I'd say yeah, ask one or ask a voice expert or someone who knows vocal ranges.
