Why isn't astrology taught in schools?

I wish they would teach more practical things in schools such as DIY things around the home, how to build your own small business and things of that nature. Astrology can be learned when one has down time, because practical things hold more importance on this physical plane.

Schools DO teach practical things, it's just that we are too busy caring about grades & other things at that age to actually soak in what's being taught. At most schools here they teach woodwork, needlework, home economics, business economics etc. We even had gardening! I did take needlework for about a year but now I can't even sew a button on...OR a weave 😛

"I stabbed a student, slapped my teacher, and cussed my principle."

WHY?

"My Pluto was acting up."

The fuck?

Poor Pluto becomes the scapegoat for any misbehavior, shitty marks, and misunderstanding...all too many times Pluto isn't even dominant in your charts.

You see it on this site all the time...its a riot!

Doesn't suit the school environment.

Some of you guys need to focus on English because the Pidgin English "yall" speak is hard to decode at times. It's a PRINCIPAL, not "principle"...at least not in the English spoken in other parts of the world.

Sorry, there's more important things that need to be taught in school. Like mentioned above, more common sense/practical life skills need to be taught as kids are becoming stupider and more shallow due to the lack of common sense and more drilling information into their heads like mindless drones.

Given the type of idiocy I've seen associated with Astrology, I wouldn't want it taught in schools. It can remain a hobby or something you can learn about on the internets.

I like astrology, but it doesn't have enough hard evidence to be taught in schools, much like religion, as both are belief based. Both can be pursued outside of that educational setting and be taught elsewhere, though.

Have you seen the spelling of most people nowadays? Or the lack of common sense festering in our society?

Wow I'm kinda surprised with a lot of comments lol??_..you guys did watch the movie to the end right? Just so were clear I'm talking about primary school kids not high school though It would benefit the high school students later.

I don't want astrology to be a subject in school where the kids become astrologers lol that would be silly and would just do my head in explaining it to them... I think it should definitely have a presence in class. What I'm getting at is that it should not be taboo or considered as religious and just be something there for kids to be interested in like mythology, and fairytales.

anything that inspires imagination or requires someone to understand something thats not tangible without forcing a belief system and yet allows someone to dig deeper in themselves and understand others is a very important thing in a child's development

I am a big believer in kids being taught practical things, textiles, horticulture, metal/wood work, any kind of trade but a kid needs to know themselves before they can understand what really drives them.

Astrology may or may not be real but its an incentive and an invitation to have some private time with yourself and think about who you are.

I was in year one in primary school and I was drawing bees and my teacher gave me a gold star and told me that because I was left handed that I'm naturally artistic and it was at that point I felt that I had a super power under my belt and I took that and became the best drawer in my school even into high school and that lead on to other forms of self expression like drama, music and other mediums of art.

Imagine if you told a kid that because they were an aquarius that they are really great thinkers and that they could think up really amazing things—_.do you think maybe they would try—_.maybe they would like to become a physicist one day.

Or an Aries child thats full of energy if you told them they were naturally really great athletes or really good at crafts, do you think they might give it a go as an incentive?

or Leos as actors, virgo's as architects, capricorns as group leaders, saggitarians as cheerleaders etc??_

I have a lot of time for kids, I could find a million ways to tell them how special they are and that they are going to save the world.

That's the parents' job, not the schools'. It's bad enough parents expect the schools to practically raise their kids. You're essentially assuming the same thing, here.

If anything, parents/society is encouraging too much to the point of over confidence in pursuing their dreams. But it's more of a "you're you, and you're just an oh so speshul snowflake. Because you're you, you'll get anything you want." Then no elaboration is made in how much hard work has to go into making your wants/dreams happen.

I don't think we need astrology to tell kids what they can and can't do, tbh. There's already enough of that going on.

You can't blame me for trying to live out my utopian dream.

Every life in unbelievably unlikely, the chances of existence are most infinitely small, the most common thing in life is life; and yet every single new born child is a miraculous special snowflake and the second we realise our children are just that and not some commodity to generate and make money from our society will be all the more stronger. Everything we are teaching our children to be will be gone one day if we continue to rear them as consumers (its not just parents who rear children its every adult of the community)??_. we need to think way ahead of the present and think of the children's children's etc etc??_??_the cold curriculum is cold, soul crushing and just fucking old and dated intended to prepare kids for war??_??_.even the teachers are fed up with it, they want something more, they want to inspire not necessarily astrology but they want to have a conversation with well rounded young adults with a healthy curiosity ??_.Who the fuck teaches a kid that they get whatever they want from just being themselves—_??_.we are talking about a child being inspired and working on that inspiration through love and understanding so that when they do have their job their work doesn't even feel like hard work because they love what they are doing??_.holy fuck i am going to be the best Rudolph Steiner teacher lol

What I am saying is that the world is turning to shit because we as adults are not doing enough to create compassionate well rounded young adults. It doesn't matter if its your kid or not it is every adults job to set an example and pull kids into line.

again, astrology isn't there to tell people what people can and can't do its Art, philosophy, poetry, alchemy, self exploration, interpretation, thought provoking hidden knowledge and it can't hurt to have it and quite frankly I think schools need punctuation otherwise its just relentless

Perhaps children should be divided into classrooms based on their mercury sign since mercury is the sign that indicates our learning preferences.
All the Sag mercuries in one class, the pisces mercuries in another, etc. The visual learners would all be together, the auditory learners together, the hands on learners together.

Wonder if it would be easier on the students and teachers. Keep kids from getting bored and things could be taught faster and more efficiently.

oh god no.

I have Virgo mercury, and I'm everything a Virgo isn't, and vice versa.

A Virgo merc classroom would be status quo traditional educational system on steroids = aka my personal hell

Let's sort by moon or rising instead 😄

Easy, its like traditional medicine and industrialized medicine. In schools nowadays its all mechanized.

Astrology and traditional medicine or even tutoring is not mechanized, its personal, its case by case. Well in shcools, they dont want to spend money and then they put 30 children together in same room and teach always the same crap at every schools.

Its always about the money and that makes me sick of this society everyday.
