What Are Water Moons in Astrology

Water moons occur when the moon is in a water sign, influencing emotions and intuition. These phases heighten sensitivity and empathy, affecting personal and relational energies. Understanding water moons can help you navigate emotional periods more effectively.

I just want to know more about water moons because it seems like they all guard thoer emotions to the point of coming off in-emotional witch I find strange and ironic.

I am a Taurus moon and I find myself to be more emotional than water moons I know. Well, more sentimental may be the word.

Water moons can come off so cold.
My mother is a Scorp moon. Growing up I was such a cry baby and she was always so unsympathetic (I'm a Scorp sun too). I hated that. Then I find out she is a Scorp moon and it boggles my mind.

Now I've recently grown closer to a Scorp friend who has Pisces moon. She is so detached, I don't know her on a "deep" level and it seems like it's because she likes to keep everything at surface level, kinda like an air sign. We get along great, but I feel like she's hiding so much for no reason?

Then I know a Scorp sun, cancr moon guy. Oh, and my brother (Leo sun) has a cancer moon. He is so unemotional! He never cries and tries to come off as this tough guy. He hides it ALL! Sometimes my mom will tell me how he's having this issue and that issue and I would never know because he doesn't tell anyone anything. My mom somehow sees it on rare occasion. The Scorp sun I know .. He shows more signs of emotion, or care, but still comes off tough and maybe 'too strong' and intimidating.

Just wondering because as a Taurus moon it's frustrating to deal with this. I like to be with people who show me thoer genuine feelings and I can sense the bullshit of the water moons that I almost feel like it pointless. I feel more sensitive than them.

Yeah as a Scorp sun, that makes sense. I guess for me it gets to a point where I'm like when does the cover up end? Will it ever? It's like I want to say 'I know you are more sensitive than you are trying to come off, it's ok to come out of the shell. I want to see the real you and I won't hurt you' haha

What he said + if you cross us, I have no issues with cutting loved ones from my life. I come off as cold distant or care free and wild. It depends who I'm with. I'm trying to find a balance. I have Cancer sun/pisces moon

I can always sniff out a scorpio moon. I find them intriguing. I always want to hear what they have to say because I totally get how they feel. It's like I can see them hiding in plain sight.

@Forren, I totally understand that as well. I looked at my chart and I noticed that I have many more aspects that make me more sensitive to the average person. I feel very deeply and I can 'sense' who to open up to as well.

For me, I would think others would 'sense' that, but maybe my Taurus moon makes me come off as cold, who knows. I've heard people say they think I am better than them and many a women seem intimidated by me. I also have sun conjunt Pluto.. Going off track! But trying to say I totally understand.

I have a Scorp sun, Aries moon friend and Gemini girlfriend that I don't open up to as well as others. Like you said previously, I feel like it's foolish because they don't 'get' me in that way. Everything needs to be logical for them.

Very true. I just would think that he moon alone should play a strong role on emotions or outward emotions.

As a Taurus moon, I pretty much fit the bill very well, but of course there are some things that I don't.

I am pretty water, earth and air dominant. Lacking fire!

So far... isn't that only one who isn't a Scorpio sun (your brother)?

Do you think he's unemotional or just extremely private?

Honestly I think he surpresses a lot and it doesn't have to do with being private. I would be that it must be hard with the Leo sun but I don't know that much about astrology.

@OP you shouldn't take it personal. Water moons ime tend to stick together and are far more likely to confide in each other, if they choose to confide their feelings to people to begin with.

I'm a Pisces with Aries moon 12th house. Our of the three water moons the Pisces mooners I've known tended to be the only ones consistently being comfortable enough to open up with me.. But would still prefer water moons over me if the choice was there. Scorpio mooners have been a mixed bunch ime, they either don't open up to anyone or just a select few. One of my closest friends is a Scorpio moon and stellium, she doesn't confide her feels to anyone. It took me years not to take it personal. I've had Scorpio moons open up to me, but they've tended to be either earth or air signs to begin with.

Cancer mooners and me just don't see eye to eye emotionally, as much as I appreciate them being sensitive creatures.

Tbh I prefer water suns over moons, just because i tend to absorb their moods and it can drag me right down with them.. And I don't like that

you are right, maybe I'm taking it personal because I want to be closer to these people. Guess I will need to be happiest with my fellow earth mooners lol

One of the Scorp moon guys had Aries sun like your mum. Not the warmest of people and very self involved

Don't envy you having a mum with those placements. Is your moon in Taurus?

Ha! Yes my moon is in Taurus 🙂

Well, Aries men are a whole different subject! Only one I think I have liked (not romantically but SEEMS like a pleasant person) has Taurus moon haha.

Actually it's funny, growing up my mom and I didn't have a good relationship. After my parents divorced and I LEFT the home did we get closer. My mom is a genrous, great person, but you can imagine me as a Scorp with Taurus moon it's hard for us to be together for too long! It's better now that I live away and we don't communicate often because she can drive me crazy sometimes lol

Well i dont share my life with just ol anybody. How special would my friends feel? I dont share everything with my friends. How special would my man feel? I dont share everything with my man. How special would my husband feel?

You see, there are levels to this shit.

**Do tell me more about the self involved scorpio moon lover, I keep hearing this from chart interpretations. Are they insensitive? Not affectionate, too wrapped up in their own experience to give you what you need?

I love talking to fellow water moons. I'm a Scorpio moon and the only people I manage to speak about literally everything were Cancer and Pisces moons. Aquarius moons are good too for anything that's not emotional.

i get it, water moons get along great with water moons 🙂🙂🙂

@Rumi, maybe its different with the genders (your father). I am sure it might be different if my dad had a scorp moon? It might also be better for men with earth to deal with water sign women than the other way around.

My dad is actual a taurus 🙂 and I am a scorp sun, so I get that. Although he is on the aries/tarurus cusp, he is def more taurus. Out of my parents, he is the one I would go to for sound advice.

Sometimes I wonder if Scorpio moons really can change themselves and flip the coin to not be so secretive. We all know it's problematic in our lives but it seems our efforts to open up are always hindered by nothing but our self doubts.

Even with a partner or someone close, there's a feeling of eternal inner loneliness being a Scorp moon. Because no matter what, even if open myself to someone, and they take advantage of that, try to 1 up me, or betrayal, that snarling feeling of revenge and destruction will then be all consuming. Natural hermit.

Well, that sounds like me as a Scorp sun. I am a loner at the end of the day. It's hard to find anyone who truly understands me.

I used to feel lonely, but now I don't. I think it's because I've always been this way plus I didn't have good friends around. Now, I'm happy with myself and who I'm becoming. I have friends when I need them, but I know I am "different" so I would rather spend time with myself.

You say that no one really understands you and that you're lonely, but would you be able to handle someone meeting you at a bar or somewhere and talking to them? Are you approachable in real life? Are you receptive to people's energies?

I'm just trying to see which signs are in your planets. Mars would be your drive, venus is how you express or show your love.

Oh I've got an emotional blockage due to my Scorpio moon/Venus in Cap/Gemini Rising/Sag sun combo, it's physically painful to make me talk about my feelings unless I've downed a couple drinks but I'm always transforming/trying to get better.
My Scorpio moon seems to be what I struggle the most with, it's conjunct my sun/mercury/pluto at tight orbs.
