...with my new stereo. I've never bought myself anything "big" like that all in one sitting, in my life. I had major guilt issues at first because it seemed so frivolous, but I'm really glad I did it now. It should last years and years.
I had been listening to my little Panasonic cd player boombox since I was 12 years old...and it was starting to make weird hissing sounds, the display was messed up, etc etc. I take good care of electronics but this one seemed to just be on it's last leg after having been used daily, for the last ten years. It had basically NO bass whatsoever...which I didn't even realize til I did some research and learned about this nifty thing called a "subwoofer". lol...so I decided to get a "mini shelf system", and I went with Panasonic because I had pretty good luck with their little boombox lasting ten years.
FINALLY, I HAVE A REAL STEREO! With real speakers that aren't built in! lol... ๐๐๐
Here's what it does (I'm so excited. I haven't even figured out how to USE half of these features yet...)
Panasonic SC-AK520 5-CD Changer Mini System:

I even wired the speakers to the main unit all by myself, and didn't get electrocuted. Luckily everything was color coded. ๐ Small problem...the thing won't turn off, no matter what I do...and yes, I'm pushing "power". It comes back on by itself! And it's been doing this for about a week now.
Anyway, there is so much BASS on this thing, it's unbelievable...I rattled my door the other day. lol! It's like I get to hear all my music in a completely different (and much better) way, now. I get to actually hear all the basslines.
Hi Phoenix, Hey that is nice stereo you got there!! You got the hook up! I think the reason why it won't shut off is because most stereo's nowadays has a stand by and not an actual shut off. I know it sucks but that is just the way it is.
Hahaha. That almost freaked me out for a second..."like last time". I thought, for just a split second, "have I ever let anyone in through the kitchen window??" Moment of panic. I'm over it now. Way to mess with my mind! lol. ๐
Yeah, after reading your post I decided to try my Beatles music out on it, and it was great - I swear, it's like I just got brand new music or something, even though I've heard these songs a million times. "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" was amazing. Like hearing it in concert. I was blown away (almost literally). ๐
Okay...John Paul Jones sounds like a really familiar name to me, but I can't think of who he is. He's not the drummer for Led Zeppelin is he? Or am I thinking of John Bonham? No one should have the same first name in this world, or last name for that matter, specifically because it confuses me. ๐ (Remember the Fonda fiasco?)
I'll be expecting you around 3 am. I will leave a trail of breadcrumbs for you to follow. Don't step on the momewraths, or they will outgrabe. ๐
Congratulation with your new stereo system,I am sure you'll enjoy the rich sound of it for many years to come.๐
BTW..did you know that if you place the subwoofer in one of the 4 room corners you get the most of it..?? and also buy some speaker spikes and place it under the subwoofer gives you a better sound (those spikes prevent the speaker shaking and dancing around the room..) ๐

Gonna find my baby, gonna hold her tight Gonna grab some afternoon delight My motto's always been 'when it's right, it's right' Why wait until the middle of a cold dark night? When everything's a little clearer in the light of day And
Recently I joined a music club, thinking it would be a good thing to do in order to take advantage of the better deals they have on music purchases, etc. Well, aside from the annoyance of having to pay for shipping (although it's pretty reasonable), I'm
So I think I'll share my fave Beatles lyrics with y'all. And it's gonna be in alphabetical order, seeing as how this wonderful site has them all in alphabetical order. :) Wow, they made so much music it's unbelievable! Goodness.
I can't even tell you how much this bugs me...I've been talking about all these good songs on our continuous loop cd at work, but I need to mention that not all of the songs are good. Get ready to hear something shocking and shameful. There's a g-damned
GREAT NEW rock song. It's actually called "I Believe in a Thing Called Love" and it's by this really odd band called The Darkness. Watch the video on launch.com (you know, they should really pay me for all my promoting. lol) It's a great song.
I need some new music, badly...it's been way too long since I bought a CD. Does anyone have any recommendations for someone who likes mainly alternative rock, and classic rock (but not heavy metal or rap)?
