Imagine
by John Lennon
Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

This is one of the greatest songs of all time at least I think most people would agree. What are your opinions of this song? I can't help but notice communist overtones in this song most other people don't agree with me about that. Is "Imagine" a communist anthem or is it more of just about a song about wanting world peace?

I think that John Lennon had nothing in mind other than to get people to think about something larger than their own little tiny lives full of religion-inspired fear. What an amazing song...it definitely is one of the best.
