Yeah I am 56 now and have been into him since the 1970s (I used to want to be him!) I like heavy rock obviously but I prefer if it has good strong vocals like what he provided. I particularly like the way his songs tend to start off with quiet "ballady bits" before the hammer falls ("The Sign of The Southern Cross" is a good example of this). Also "ballady bits" in the middle sometimes. It makes the songs more dramatic and interesting.
Dio was a Cancer but in the Scorpio decanate and that "intensity" is what I like about him. Alternately ferocious and gentle.

Who else on here is a Dio fan? If you are, what is your favourite song that he has sung on? Recently I discovered a fantastic Dio song on YouTube: it's actually a demo version of the song "Letters From Earth" from the Black Sabbath Dehumanizer album. It's way better than the final version in my opinion though unfortunately the sound quality is not very good.
