Do you accept where you are in life? Let go of your past, just live in the moment or try to plan the future? I think for me, I have finally let go of the past. That is a wonderful thing because it's so hard for me to do. I have been on this journey…
Long story long, my boyfriend who is from a completely different culture than mine, is the nicest human being, and he is healing some wounds that I have been given by parents who did not love themselves yet alone have room to love us kids. I have never had someone be so supportive as this man. He has hard conversations with me, reminds me how proud he is of me, sees me as some one who needs love and not someone to get hurt or thrown away.
Because my parents were not capable of love and only showed abuse, I grew up with this idea that people were never going to love me, and I was right, as I grew up I noticed that people could barely make room for themselves, I saw how much people could not even love themselves so I saw myself as in the way or in the wrong place, and I was right, but this turned out to be the case with just about everyone. It turned into anger that I pointed at myself. I hurt myself deliberately in my 20s as a way to punish myself for being a huge inconvenience in peoples lives. Even though I knew I had done nothing wrong I wanted to rid myself. It turned into heavy drinking and wanting to die with out trying, I turned to God and asked him to smack me around and change my life and he gave me my son, which changed my life. I now have a life changing and beautiful relationship with my son but still struggle with worth. My son is amazing and very vocal about how he sees me and always tells me I am an amazing mother at every chance he gets. (He knows me very deeply and very well) but now that I am in a very healthy relationship these wounds that I set aside are coming up and I walk around with a very humbling pain inside of me because I feel greatful that someone would come along and still want me, care about me, be there for me. It is painful to say the least. Has anyone pushed through this phase? Does it ever go away. My boyfriend says one sweet thing to me and listens to me, even just once a week and I cry about it for days. I could gaslight myself into believing I am over thinking into this but for some reason I feel its something I have to embrace in order for me to become the better version of myself for everyone I love including me.
Has anyone made it past this point?
I need to know how to embrace this kind of healing with out crying at work...I already cried before work. Lol
