Dog Food and Pee
Hmm... Maybe it's the products you use for laundry. I know pets can catch some scents that make them do that. Specially products that contain ammonia or leave a slight ammonia scent. Do you use any fabric refresher on your sheets, like Febreze for instance?
I it is continuing then it is a problem they are associating with the litter box most likely - such as pain from a UTI.
