I found this at: www.astrology.com.au/
The Chinese have divided time differently from us Westerners. Whereas we have 100-year centuries, the Chinese have periods of sixty years. We divide our centuries into ten decades. The Chinese divide their sixty-year spans into "dozencades" or twelve-year periods.
In the West, we divide our year up twelve times by its suns. Each 30 day month has its own astrological name. Every year our cycle begins anew. In the East, each year within the twelve-year dozencade has its own animal name. At the end of each twelve-year period the Chinese cycle begins anew.
The twelve occidental months have celestial sign names: Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces. The twelve oriental years have animal sign names: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Cat, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, Pig. In both cases the astrological sign name refers to the character of people born under its influence. The cycles of names always repeat in the same order.

So what?
that still makes almost zero sense...
thanks for trying to explain though,
It seems if you were born in november lets say the 13 and your chinese astrology sign is a pig,
so your supposed to have impeccable manners and taste, perfectionist.
But if you ask them there not any of those, thed prolly say (if they trused you enough) That they were unorgonised,
silent, and had little freinds and chose to be by themselves and keep to themsleves mostly.
wich is scorpio.
so i dont think chinese astrology is that beleivble,
im highly sceptical of its athenticity.
Where as western astrology is based on logic,
Actualy planets and there degrees to where you were born and under witch time,
can give you actual degrees when you get a free chart done,
and nine times out of ten at least up to mars
( since the planets lose potency and affect on your personality drastically after mars,)
The person will unknowingly fit the descrption for those planets,
so i highly doubt this is a coincidence, Maybe it was a coinicidence that somone found out about it,
but not actuall people ive seen act oput there sign and moon sign and rising and so fourth,
(Peopland freinds who i didnt tell i was judging them by astrology just for fun,
because i like things i invest time into to be worth my time,
wich is why i dont have any interest in numerology or chinese astrology.
or that name thing where it tells you your life path by the letters in your name is insane.
that still makes almost zero sense...

I only know two rabbits, ones thirty and other ones the two of yours age,a pig i know is 20 something younger than me too.I actually have a very good relationship with a snake which is supposed to be not too good or just mediocre according to chinese.Im not very flighty like goats are supposed to be either,do have some issues dealing with emotions but not to the point that I run away from them unless it seriously seems to be not worth the trouble.Snakes are supposed to smother goats with possesiveness because they like the "soft",innocent and femine stuff but also fear that it will get goats in trouble is one of the few problems that happened to be true,=he's too protective sometimes.Or the snake will be a slut and cheat is the other "problems" that relationship is supposed to have,-he's too obsessed with me to cheat, lol.
"I think chinese astrology is extreme bogus."
OFA, I second that....I completely agree with what you said.

whatever do you mean by that,Haffokins?
Anyway what's so original about rabbits raping their partners and murdering them...
most species including the supposedly "best" humans do that...I never really liked rabbits anyway (not talking about the human ones mike!)...but I think birds don't do that...I'm not sure though...I really like the way most of them mate for life and pine away if they lose their partner...it kinda seems very romantic and unattainable if you know what I mean...

I don?t think Chinese astrology is bogus. Each Eastern signs correspond to the Western signs. I?m a Pisces, but not a typical Pisces who drink her life away or dwell in sorrows; only because my Chinese astrology is a dragon and that bring forth determinations & willingness to succeed. If my trait was Pisces alone, I wouldn?t have survived many terrible situations that had come my ways. And don?t tell me I survived because of my descendant, moon, etc. that had brought forth my strength. Dragon is a powerful, fierce, & lucky sign. Luck has sure been on my side.
