Pisces is the introverted Sagittarius
That makes sense to me. But pisces is also the flipside of Virgo.

Yes, opposition - two sides of one coin.
I read somewhere (on compatibility of Pi & sag) that they have both a martyrer complex.
also have an intrinsic wisdom. Vision on future.
both have helper syndrom.
Both mislead people innocently.
But I think Sag is called faster by his/her ego than Pisces if being used disrespectfully.
They also took Pluto as soon as it was discovered. For centuries Mars did its Job.
Now Pluto is gas for everybody but some astrologers.
What about Chiron? Is it a Virgo thing? Or co-rules Pisces? Healer!

it's both.
neptune and traditional ruler is Jupiter.
that's why many pisces are very very LUCKY. you just don't notice it as you do Sagittarius, but if you look deeper....
they are very very Lucky.

Interesting.. I can see this because both Sagittarius and Pisces care about causes. They're both standing up for something. Sagittarians do so more like an Aquarius like in a logical "this is right" type of way for social causes, whereas a Pisces will do the same but with the added element of empathy, and can understand people intuitively on a one-on-one basis..I didn't know Pisces was ruled by Jupiter as well as Neptune, although those sweet loving souls do deserve to be, so that's good
And my understanding was that Pisces had a little bit of each sign in their experience, as they are the last sign in the cycle, not Scorpio.

Yes. one reason why I love Pisces, they are mutable without being totally logical or other.. I don't really know. But it's said Pisces has a bit of every sign so they can be comical, serious, a jerk, excited, angry, whichever. They're usually funny though because of their complete and utter honesty. Shit happens and they just take it like it is.
^ I like this.
My toughts about mutables and astrology:
Pisces: Mystical about it
Sagittarius: Its more like wanting to know about astronomy and the planet energy and places.
Gemini: Discovery of new things about it
Virgo: Sceptical about it
Pisces is the introverted of any other sign, just because we have another world to travel for. So a little of Sagittarius on the travel part.

Maybe some more generic causes and out of this world so others signs will never see it as one.

I am yet to see the second type but it makes sense, if they find as a perfect/flawless system they will be like you say.
Well I don't see it as flawless..but I dislike seeing things as flawless to being with. Flawlessness strikes me as..dull.
