well he opened up to me again a week ago after i just let go of his delusions of "REAL LOVE" with the fish and told me that i was right because the girl admitted it already and he said thank you for at least making him see how stupid he was for even hanging on to her.

You completely missed my point....my point was that your concern was a waste of energy...something that some "guy friends" wouldn't even do among each other...but probably some "girlfriends" would...I'm saying to stop treating your guy friend like a girlfriend...unless you want to put yourself in that position. OR set yourself up to want to be in a relationship with that person. I'm not saying You ARE...but I do know giving "heart to heart talks" like that can give a "guy" friend the wrong impression.
