Sounds like paradise.
The unfortunate part is that Chavez had a lot of popular support when his "revolution" went down. It's the same road Cambodia went down, North Korea went down, etc.

There is another article I'll post here later. It involves Chavez/Maduro taking many years to disarm the population at large in the name of "public safety", only now Maduro is arming his supporters.(gee, wonder why?)

Venezuela used to be one of the better economies in South America. What we are seeing in real time there is something out of "Atlas Shrugged".

Yeah. Some poster here a while back was saying that while trying to deny that's what they were saying.

It's really all because the "right people" aren't in place to properly administer Utopia.....like no one could see this coming (eyeroll):

http://money.cnn.com/2018/01/25/news/economy/venezuela-imf/index.html

"Venezuela is deep into an economic, political and humanitarian crisis, largely inflicted by the government's own policies, economists say. Food and medical shortages are widespread. People are scavenging for food in dumpsters. Citizens are fleeing by the thousands. The currency, the bolivar, is nearly worthless. The government has defaulted on its debt. World leaders are calling President Nicolas Maduro a dictator."

Really tragic what's happening there. Doctors working 60 hours a week for $ 45/mo. People who were middle class not being able to eat for days and scrounging garbage piles.

Did you see the group of guys who surrounded a cow in the field and beat it to death for food? And the zoo animals...Jesus.
I had to edit my post. I saw that bit about the cow.

It's difficult to have sympathy, because the Venezuelans voted for it:

"Chávez was elected to his first term as President of Venezuela with the largest percentage of the popular vote (56.2% ) since 1983, when Jaime Lusinchi won with 58.4% of the vote."

Not everyone who's suffering did, and the animals sure didn't. I'll bet the ones who voted for him and were wealthy enough, skipped out when things started to go south.

"This is for thee and not for me."
