President Trump's speech; not a philosophical soliloquy, nor a piece of poetry, but a letter to the people. Donald Trump's inauguration speech has been lambasted by various media outlets for its lack of philosophical depth, and the absence of intricate articulation and flowery language. It has been called, by Larry King, a speech not long remembered. But this speech, in my humble opinion, is actually exceedingly historical. For perhaps the first time in America's history, barring the speeches by George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, the presidential inauguration speech was a speech specifically targeted at the American people. It was devoid of the language seen in the courts and the senate, devoid of the lampoonings of the media, but instead it was short and simple: People of America, this is the state of our country, and this is where I, alongside you, will take it. President Trump's speech was both in content and language, a message to the people. A message to once again reassure them, that the government was once more in their hands, and under their control. I find this speech to be of immeasurable historical importance, as a speech that for once, spoke directly to the people who voted, rather than the politicians, the corporate interests, or the media and social elite. I would rather a simple, direct speech that speaks directly to the people, than a piece of flowery drivel with no value for those to whom it is most important.

Of course I called you a monkey when we were having a fight, just as I would have called someone wearing nerdy glasses a "nerd" or a fat person "fat", or a skinny person "spaghetti"...basically just pointing out the obvious.

Haha you want me to dig up the thread where you actually were being racist to me? 🙂

I'm sure you don't wanna go there..

When racist Europeans feel the need to have an opinion on american politics.

——?

is boom a racist??

He called me a monkey and referred to our ex first lady as transgendered

To me that's racist

And now is commenting on how great a speech that was when few people in America were inspired. I mean he didn't have to use flowery language but what Americans was he talking to cause the ones I know including white people were rolling their eyes and mocking him

But boom always wants to be part of the discussion. He's needy

I find it ironic that the anti Trump protesters busted up the windows of Starbucks. Starbucks is a huge supporter of the Democratic Party. The CEO publicly made anti Trump comments. And now they get vandalized in the protest? Go figure.....

Notice, compared to a previous president, barely an "I" or "me" in the entire speech.

That the media is complaining about no flowery rhetoric or deep philosophy shows just how lacking the "other side" is. (And how out of touch and why 'their' candidate lost as well),

While I think Trump is going to focus on the business of fixing of what he believes has gone wrong in the US, I hope his DOJ looks into who is putting the money behind the "protesters".

LOL at Trump passing himself off as a populist. People are really buying this shit?

That was a terrible inauguration speech. It was divisive rather than unifying. He's acting like he's still on the campaign trail. It had zero substance, only rhetoric. How Bush and Obama kept their giggles in while he was talking is beyond me. This man literally makes George Bush look like a mensa member every time he speaks. We got Derek Zoolander for president.

The entire Obama policy of 8 years was racially divisive.

Yet you get your panties wet for just a "speech" LOL

Give the man the chance to do what he has been appointed to do.

You can do the crying later, when bad decisions are being made 😉

No substance? When he said middle class will come out of being forgotten—

That's ALL we need!!! Unless you don't...

He said government will no longer mendle with working class business!

You don't see a substance?

You know you'll never get an honest acknowedgement of that.

As for Trump, I hope he does well. There is a hell of a mess and it has been decades in the making, the last 16 years especially so.

He wasn't SUPPOSED to say it in yesterday speach!

Unless you think everyone is ready to listen 5 hours speach!

He said just enough for time being.

I am sure Hillary would give you rundown on how she is planning on saving every child and mother. By name and address...

Keep believing it!

And btw Trump doesn't give a damn about your opinion on his speech. I hope you know that.

I could hardly hear it since I was at work, but I will say that I DID like that he mentioned GOD a lot. I was reading comments on another board and they were saying keep GOD out of it, but I liked it. Gave me comfort because it seems as people get into higher positions there's less mention of the creator.

I also liked that he mentioned how we need to unite. I believe there were pictures of the KKK near the White House the other day. I'm sure they felt like idiots hearing Donald speech.

Right. He was supposed to say during his campaign. But like all politicians he's all talk and no follow through.

That's why I'm not too worried about him in office. It's all the same shit and at the end of the four years not much will have changed.

I got from that speech that he finds he's started a movement. And I had to think of Miley Cyrus's movement. Does it come from Sagittarius in the personal planets?

Astrology is boring. He danced to Sinatra's "I did it my way".

waving at people while dancing with his better half. superficial or Saturn in Cancer?

I had to immediately search youtube for the first dance of P44. He had also Venus in Cc but not Sat. But Mc in Sc.

Those weren't just any protesters though. They were anarchists, in black from head to foot, and masked as well. They were very well organized and intent upon violence. One spray painted "Revolution or Death" on a plate glass window. That leaves little room for questioning their motives. This is what the fear of loss of freedoms proscribed by the new administration will do.

Also, there's a thread about that, but racism is about ethnicity and there cannot be reverse racism because there's no real oppresion, no system that supports it. She could have used negative stereotypes about your country etc. against you.

Exactly. And were no where near the bikers that showed up.

See, the bikers would not have been restricted in their response, as in: "I'm a ninja protesting the threats to my freedom to loot and destroy property....oh wait, you're going to break my legs instead of taking me to jail where mommy and daddy can bail me out? I don't think I'm getting paid enough to handle that. I'll be slinking back to my parent's basement now...."

i'd go to a trump inauguration high too...

LOL no but she looked bloated, her face could not hide it, whatever it is. I fear they might break up.

i'd be high and bloated too if i had to sit around people who hate me and fake support them. She probably bloated from eating too much sweets to hide her depression of having to listen to an orange baby fisted man speak nonsensical

There are some people that use any excuse to cause destruction. Look at all the riots over the past few years. The people that really cared about the cause were mainly peaceful, it was the people that joined in just for something to do that caused the problems.

Not so much started one, IMHO, but tapped into a large reservoir of frustration (and dare I say anger). Some of it is the Tea Party movement, which establishment people of both parties have tried to quash.
