Virgogome, I like you and all but I must say that those comments seem a tad prejudice, I hope you don't have anything against the middleeast but from the looks of it, sure seems like you do.
"Well lets all hope whoever wins, the Victory Cry is not the word JIHAD"
Miss. Pisces you are correct. My son's name is Saleem Ali King and had he taken his fathers last name it would be Saleem Ali Al-Uqdah...now tell me that isn't a terrorist name? lol but he isn't Muslim nor is he from Afghan or Iraq nor is he part of the Taliban. **shakes head*** it's so sad. I didn't let him take his fathers last name just because I didn't want him to have problems later on in life. I'd imagine him running for President and every one saying he is Muslim or part of a terrorist group just because of his name.
We are Christians NON-Denomination...and I personally don't agree with the Muslim teaching however I still LOVE them with all my heart because that is what we are supposed to do and because I have a love for people despite their religion or color. If Obama is a Muslim then fine I still love him all the same. IF not then that's fine too. But don't let a NAME discourage you or make unjustifiable assumptions.
It's sad that we view all of the Middle East as some kind of melting pot of terrorist and hatred. There are so many over there who are totally against it. I guess it's similar to how Blacks used to be viewed. You can make an assumption about one person and apply it to a whole race or religion. There are Muslims who are NOT terrorists!! This is clearly discrimination! I try to always judge a person by their heart and not their title or their skin color. We have come too far for all of this and still yet, there are people who don't want "CHANGE" because they are comfortable with how life has always been...that is as long as THEY are on top!
I speak out of all of those who have struggled with being misunderstood just because you had the "wrong" name, skin color, religion, profession, or political view. These are not basis for being judgmental and stereotypical. I've found that the person making the biggest fuss and calling the most names is the person who has the real problem... that problem being the inability to step outside of your own title, beliefs, and political views to walk in the shoes of those who are different. I guarantee you once you have done that you will begin to see that our differences are what make us so beautiful and precious in the site of God.
I personally thank God for change.
