In my case, it makes me feel like I've known him forever.
He says he feels this same way about me.
We have this both ways:
I have cap sun/ Scorp moon
He has Scorp sun/ cap moon
We think a lot alike about a lot of things.
I am a bit coarser as a sun/ merc in Capricorn but I come out and say what he's really thinking and hiding, because he is more sensitive to people's feelings as a sun/mercury in Scorpio.
I honestly don't get the feeling that it's just moon to sun. There's MUCH more to that. Mars/Venus/Merc ect.
The moon to sun alone is understanding, but sure, you understand someone but feel nothing utterly romantic or passionate about them. It's just business as usual, just like a co-worker you see and wave to, but could give two shits if they are w/ other people romantically. You shrug and go, yeah ok, so what? Meh.
Pisces Moon here.
Friendship as well.........with 3 February Pisces I've dated. We agreed about everything, so much that we annoyed other friends, when forming separate opinion. We finished each other's sentences. Sex was OK, with little emotional involvement. The shortest relationships ever, each lasting less than six months.
It was a bit boring, I suppose. There was no challenge whatsoever. We were more like siblings, despite the fact that each of us had a different nationality and spoke a different mother language!!!
I dumped twice, been dumped once. I asked him why and he said: "You never said NO to me". That was quite a revelation, because I was described, not long ago, as argumentative, stubborn and opinionated. "The woman who never said NO. WOW. Give me that in writing, please!" I laughed.
I then went to have another relationship with a Pisces. This one was a Pisces/Aries cusper though, while my moon is closer to Aquarius. This relationship lasted several years.

I think (subject to check) that this is supposed to be most optimal when it's her sun, his moon. But like PVAF, my own experience has been that this is more of a friendship aspect.
Okay I agree that my moon being HIS sun does give me more of a friendship vibe.
So a guy with Cancer moon?
Why is is more optimal that way?

I'm an aries sun, cancer moon and my hubby to be is a taurus sun, aries moon so my sun is HIS moon. I'll have to differ with you guys though. While we are each others best friend, our sex life is amazing, and we're very emotionally involved as well. We also both happen to have taurus in Venus, though, so that might have something to do with it.Not to say that we don't butt heads. ( No pun intended) my moon makes me slower to anger than most rams, so it doesn't happen often, but when we do clash we clash hard... but only for a tense minute or two and then we're over it.
Even though I hear of the Bull and Ram together often, it seems like a tough combo.
Do you think him having your sun as his moon gives him more understanding and intense feelings toward you?
How is the attraction between you two?
Yes, I like that. My moon is an Aries, my bf is an Aries.
However, I like moon trine moon a lot. Strangely enough married people in my life have moon opposite moon

It's better if it's his moon and her sun definitely. But it's not a "comfortable" placement.
Why is it not comfortable?

I'm very curious of this combination.
What does this mean for the couple?
Does this make the feelings more adoring, intense, or repulsed?
I dated two Sag guys, we hit it off right away.
Both did nothing for me but I feel I've learned from them.
