*It is your Rising sign, rather than your Sun sign, that is the primary indicator of harmony or attraction in your relationships.*

Basing your relationships on Sun Signs alone is a common mistake. While there are long term benefits to having compatible Suns, it is no guarantee of a harmonious relationship. Overall harmony and attraction is mainly the province of the Rising sign or Ascendant.

The Ascendant is planet Earth and is the most important part of the chart representing the "actual" or perceived you. The Sun, on the other hand, is the most important heavenly body representing the "ideal" or aspiring you which is not always obvious to others.

When the Sun person sees his or her inner self reflected outwardly by the Ascendant person, an intimate or mutual bond is established. Similarily, when the Ascendant person is invigorated or animated by the presence of the Sun person, an intimate or harmonious bond is also established.

Longest, closest relationship to date. His Ascendent matches my Venus. My Ascendent matches his mom's Sun (and he has multitudes of family-oriented, protective qualities). My Sun matches his Mars. Our Moons match each other's Suns.

Ascendents are cool. 😄 It can take a long time to come to terms with it existing, though, since we don't intentionally project it. It just 'is' and can be so confusing, especially in the earlier years, when people respond to it other than how we mean to project ourselves.

IMO

Hmm.

I'm a Gemini sun, Aquarius rising.

Partner is a Leo sun, Libra rising.

The only thing I wonder about is how my Venus/mars are so water and his are air/fire. But then, I'm a Gemini sun, and he's a Gemini Venus.

My best friend is a cancer sun with a Gemini Venus and I'm a Gemini sun with a cancer Venus. Lol we have been friends foreverrrr. I've always enjoyed fire mars positions as long as they aren't all flighty. He's different in that, he's quite clingy which is usually not normal of Gemini Venus and Aries mars I would think.

It really makes me wonder how much detail the little things make, smallest degree/position. I have always been curious just how much the rising counts though

I agree.

My first boyfriend was a Cap with Gem rising. My latest, Gem with Cap rising.

Cap/Gem was a talker, funny, outgoing, the life and soul of a party and that is how most of his numerous friends got to see him. His inner self was more serious and ambitious (he finished his medical degree top of the class) and very picky when choosing a girlfriend.

The Gem/Cap is serious, bossy, controlled and rarely smiles. The lights went off in the cafeteria during our first meeting and a waiter came to apologize to us, blaming it on the cold (??!). Must have been my date's coldness, the weather was getting warmer, lol! Then what a surprise to meet his mischievous, child-like, talkative and friendly self!

As for sun-ascendent attraction, I feel that his Gem sun is attracted to my Sag rising and my Pisces sun to his Cap rising!

I think the more we get to know a person, the less their ascendant is effective. So attraction might be based on the ascendant but wouldn't relationships be based on the personal planets?

Have to say I can't agree...

I'm a Leo Rising and according to this chart I get along great with Leo suns, but that can't be further from the truth, I'm suppose to have tension with Taurus suns but for the most part they're alright with me, apparently I'll be bored with Aries sun, but I think Aries are great and I'll feel negativity with other Pisces but my bff, my favorite Aunt, and my closests cousins are all Pisces.

So....

Im a leo rising as well, and i don't think it means you should get along with leos. My pisces sister loathes them lol... Since you're a pisces , i think tauruses should get along fine with you!

Ahh no wonder I've dated the least rapport. Cap rising
With Leo it's the worst, with Taurus a bore, libra is good but best cap or cancer. I get along well with cappies.

😉 Cept Lif Path 9 Caps.

I'm a Virgo sun with Sagittarius rising.

I get along with Libra and Capricorn risings. I do attract Sagittarius suns and Venuses, the Venuses more so.

I absolutely abhor Gemini risings.

My Venus is in Scorpio, and scorpio risings scare me like no other lol. It's a hit and miss but I prefer not to have them.
