Scorpio + cancer = marriage or splitsville

Me (scorpio) and my boyfriend (cancer) have been together for 5 years... i'm starting to go insane.

well, at first we had both our parents COMPLETELY opposed to the idea of us getting married, and now they both approve but NOT happy. they both wish that it doesn't work out, in fact both of our families wish it doesn't work out, cuz we have different ethnic backgrounds, different religious backgrounds, etc.... we even have different life style s and we enjoy different things...

what we have in common with each other is the following: loyalty, love, honesty with each other, caring for each other, the way we dress, and the way we look at some stuff in life. aside from that we are the complete opposite..

yesterday i was crying the whole day, cuz i don't want us to end, we are supposed to get officially engaged in 2 months, we been wanting to get married for 4 years!!! anyways, at night, we just held each other's hands and i was like "are we cursed? did your parents and mine's prayers get answered?" he kinda started jokin with me, cuz i was crying.. i mean i don't know we keep on fighting and not wanting to spend time with each other lately but we love each other so much.

as you would guess (since i'm a scorpio and he's a cancer)since day 1, i been the outspoken decision maker in our relationship, and i am almost always the reason we break up and make up, he is very passive but he seems sure he wants to be with me, he was never good with words.. i am going insane, cuz i don' t know what to do anymore.

to make matters worse, my mom and sister seem to be convinced that i'm not marryin this guy and that i'm marryin someone else cuz of some 'dreams' they had... they think i'm marryin someone else..

i can't tell if we are takin our last breath of single-hood before we get engaged and eventuallly married, or if we what we had is gone and we are in denial!! i don't know if we're ending regardless of how we feel.. and i don't know if feelings are good enough to make us last.

In all honesty, different backgrounds can make it harder on a marriage. Love is enough of course, if you know what you're getting into, and you are prepared.
On a very unromantic blunt note, sometimes feelings aren't enough to make it last. And the fact that both of your families are against your union will definitely put a strain on your marriage.
But, if you are serious about your intentions, and you have already made up your mind (have you personally?) and if your cancer-boyfriend is in the same boat with you, then nothing can hold you back. First, find out where you both stand on this issue.
