What makes a hopeless romantic?
Ok describe your feelings ? Are you still hopeless romantic? After drama?
Before drama it's like a big ice cream sundae with a lot of sweet toppings sprinkled all over and then someone bumps you and it gets all of you. That's how it feels for me like ohhh weeee to ooohhh fuck nooo..
Excitement is great, the feeling is mutual and can talk about anything is possible not sure if I am hopeless in romance. But I might be wearing my heart on my sleeve every once in while when I start off..Cancer rising..
It seriously can be a drug. Basically I am attracted to a certain kind of guy naturally and that guy never seems to have much of a flare for romance. I know any sign can be romantic in their own way but I'm looking for originality and someone who does it on their own accord because it makes them happy. I am like that so I know they are out there but it seems to contradict the kind of guy I am originally attracted to.
Funny, witty, playful, intellectual, conversationalist, adventurous, responsible, spiritual,.... Somehow those ones don't swoon me much but it could be by chance.
When I say hopeless I mean that I feel like I'm attracted to one thing but need another thing that doesn't catch my eye on those other ways. Am I asking too much?

I should have been more specific. I am personally familiar with what a hopeless romantic is... I'm wondering what kinds of astrological placements would be associated with one?
It does feel like a drug... Love... Like this is what I need to get high( a few great quality traits). I have the supply( alot of course) , and once that high wears off( the demand ) I don't feel like hopeless romantic... I shut down. All the euphoria feeling and then hitting rocking bottom. Is no fair. No fun no more. I also have Venus in Taurus combine with Cancer rising. So yeah great feeling with most emotions heightened in these planets.. yeah must be the water placement. Makes me a big mushy shit ball..

I know for sure a Venus in the 5 th house can do it. Mines in my 3rd...woah I just realized that. That could have something to do with it perhaps.

I am a hopeless romantic. I have a Leo moon, taurus Mars and venus in pisces so can't help being in love with the idea of love. I think romance is the only thing I miss when not in a relationship!!! Generally speaking relationships suck so I rarely get to be romantic. But I am really feeling with my bull and it heading in the right direction and I have created a romantic practical goodie bag for him as a term of affection!!!! I love to spoil my amour!!
I'm right there with you. I miss the romance a lot and i find myself seeking it SO soon after a relationship even in casual ways. I love spoiling my guys too! Well really, I spoil all my friends but i put special emphasis on my boyfriends.
So far I'm hearing Pisces, Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aries.
I have met a lot of capricorns that are romantic strangely enough, I think their kind of romance just matches well with my venus capricorn. I like serious love, deep down infatuation, anything mental, love notes, words of affirmation, not to much flattery though. I like someone who has an emotionally controlled and irresistible demeanor. I hate to use this as a reference but something like the Twilight couple without the awkward stammering and vampire identity. Straight up devotion!

I had a boyfriend go down on one knee once. You have no idea of the horror on my face. 'Don't do this. Get up. Get up right now before I cut out your liver and feed it to you.' I might seem mean, but I would say he was either being cruel knowing how much I wouldn't like it or he failed to know me at all in the two years we had been dating. Put me on the spot and I will always so no. Discuss it with me and we'll weigh the pro's and con's. Proposals look like a nasty business to me. It puts a lot of pressure on the guy and opens him up to massive rejection. And it puts a lot of pressure on the woman to not leave a man hanging.

That is so interesting to me... I caught myself saying "aw how romantic" at the beginning of what you said but by the end it gave me really great perspective.

Outside of relationships, I don't say anything. Otherwise people just give me the "crazy" look if I tell them. It seems the vast majority of women like this stuff.

I apologize. I never answered your question when I responded.
Where do I think it comes from?
If I use astrology, I'd be inclined to use Neptune as a scape goat. Reason being is Neptune involves the imagination and to be a hopeless romantic, you will need a creative imagination 😄 (nothing wrong with that, I'm actually a huge fan)
Perhaps it's my 4th house Venus or my VIS, or my jacked up Neptune and its squares that make me so inclined to believe in the cliché, " happy ever after." Don't misunderstand me, I know it takes work, I know its hard and yet I still find the journey beautiful and conquerable.
But as for other external causes, I'd use my mother, my sole upbringing, as my reason. She, in all her glory and faults, to this day believes in " love. " Growing up, all I knew what that I would meet some guy who would care about me the way family does, (for my own benefit and growth) and not for other superficial things. She beat it into me.
I meet patients whom have been married for numerous decades and their stories are the same. They picked each other and they made it work. THAT is crediable, it is in the flesh and I can believe in it.
I'd be curious to know your opinion on the matter. Where do you think it comes from?

I totally understand what you're saying.
I'm not sure what is causing it in my chart other than being a rising scorpio and 5th house pisces. I agree water may be a factor in romantic people, also venus whether you're looking at signs ruled by venus or the aspects and placement of venus. Maybe 8th house connections too. I'm just not sure my 5th house could affect me that much without any planets there. So I'm still figureing it out..

A person who can't think for them self?? Lol I disagree. I'm sorry if that has been your experience but I can tell you that I know how to think for myself and being romantic doesn't interfere with how I think for myself. They're can be an aspect of illusion with romance for me, but I truly haven't ever been with anyone who put any emphasis on being romantic to me. That will definitely be different next time I date because I've realized it's something important to me. I'm not looking for a description of what a hopeless romantic is I'm thinking about the astrology involved.

well you aint asking too much, i totally get where you coming from and what you thinking, all that twilight and black sheep for the family
ask this, as i call myself, "optimistically hopeless romantic fool". im sagi by the way and seriously when i call myself that i mean it
i sometimes get so hopeless that i forget the reality and the conditions i put myself into, and then get optimistic so bad that no matter how bs situation gets
ill hook up on the tiniest possibility and make it work.. well thats what i think im doing, although idk if its bcz of her im doing all that or bcz im like that
but whatever, love comes in mysterious ways and at unexpected times. plus we dont get all what we are looking or wishing for, if that happened
i swear kids would have been flying and a new era of supervillians and batmans would have started.
