I am taking a developmental psych class. N as children we know exactly what we need from our "caregivers" or mothers. And in return adults have an inate sense to fufill these needs. We need food and most importantly touch and love.

Now ... as an adult we wonder around either saying we dont need love or we have to have it. I wonder if there is a correlation between the love you recieved as a child and the love you long for as an adult?

ionnno just thought it was interesting...because they say your first gf/bf are your parents!?

I cant speak for myself but I have friends who seem to be in a vicious dating cycle that is reminiscent of their childhood. So yes, I think that maybe your observation could be on point in some cases. I will say this about myself. My Dad works a LOT and I understand that, my grandfather and uncles also worked a LOT. I think that growing up with men who had no problem working hard to provide for their famiy has made me very understanding when it comes to my mate working hard. In essence, I have never been a female who will leave or cheat on a man simply because he "works all the time" I find comfort in knowing my man is at work doing something useful to benefit us as a whole.
