It hight school my friend came to tell me what happened when we parted to go to class. (she's always been the skinny girl with curvy hips and big butt. I am proud to say that I have NEVER been groped by a stranger in my entire life.
Maybe the problem lies in the way you carry yourself in public. You rarely see classy, modest women complaining about being groped by a stange man in public. I am not calling anybody here a hooch but maybe those women that do get groped often are doing something in order to provoke these men....?

We can just stay home and cover up in those Arabian clothes where only the eyes show. HECK! We'll close our eyes while we're at it too. In my opinion, a woman who has been sexualy violated starting from the 4th year of life, I can and WILL say woman DON"T have it easy. BUT I WONT say men have it any easier. I'm aware of the pressure on men. For one I'm the only female in my family, from first all the way to the 5th(?) cousins that I'm aware of. I have two brothers who seem far from related too.
But so what? You're complaining that we get more attention? Weren't you just bringing up history? I think she isn't saying that those women who dress up deserved to be raped. She knows its not okay and that its not right and very damaging. I think she wants people to know and be aware of how or why things occur.

I think what she really said is, "Women cannot wear things that show off their features and expect that they cannot be and shouldn't be touched. They should be aware of what they are putting at risk."

I'm also pretty sure that she knows there are people that just rape and grope others regardless of anything else.

No, she said if it happens to a slut, she won't feel sorry for them. As if being a slut is such a horrible crime that she can't feel sympathy if they get raped because of it....totally not taking into account that being a slut has little to do with why most women are raped.

I know, but just in the moment when you feel frustated and want to spill out something like "I'd like to see you get raped and THEN talk!" but that's just as disgusting and I'm aware of that. It's the frustration that brings those mean words to mind for the moment. That's why I didn't actually say it myself first.

I didn't say I'd like to see her get raped. I would never wish that on someone.

I said *if* she ever got raped, she would change her mind.

Topics like this can really get under peoples skin. It's always personal. And it frustrates when you want to get your point out there but see someone saying things that feels like it goes against what you said, it's like.... Urggg! Because it's so personal to each and everyone of us, esssssspeccccciallly to the ones who have gone through such things or know someone that has, the frustration gets to us.


I can say though I've been sexually assaulted I'm SO happy to be living in a country where I have a voice! Sure, just because there are bigger problems out there in the world doesn't mean we should EVER ignore the little ones.
