I read somewhere that we reflect ourselves in our mother (as a women of course) .. and that we attract and get attracted to the same type as our father.... and now that I think about it, I can see the pattern... it has always been the same type for me...
My dad is a Cancer, after getting into astrology I realised I kept getting in to long term relationships with Cancers. Me and my dad dont particularly get on, neither did me and my Cancer ex's. I changed the pattern and now I am a lot happier, maybe I had daddy issues! haha
Now when it comes to my mum I am nothing at all like her, it's like we are from different planets, I am always telling her that I would not put up with even half of the stuff she puts up with from my dad, not that he is a bad guy, just a little ( well a lot!) inconsiderate. She is a pisces.
As a matter of fact (well. fact I chose to adapt, that is), your relationship with your pardner is fashioned after the parent of the same sex and not the other way.
not only astrologically (if thats a word lol) . My dad is irresponsible, and while he was married to my mom, he was never home, always out partying and cheating on my mom.... I tend to attract that kind of types! my x boyfriend was a copy of my dad.
We're attracted to what we're used to. And our parents are the only 2 people we've known since we've known ourselves, so of course it shouldn't be surprising when a person ends up sub/unconsciously seeking a person that mirrors similar traits that their parents had.
Humans are also naturally attracted to what they don't have & wish they had. For example...the girl who never got along with her father may either attract someone completely ALIKE her father OR someone completely the OPPOSITE for that very same reason.
Alot of traits are univeral though. So there's always gonna be a huge chance that our partners in SOME kinda way mirror our parent(s).
