Have a google... I think you can get a simple one just to start
out at under $ 100 (Singer is supposed to be good).
If it's something you take to easily, it will be worth it.
yah this is something id like to do. Its the only way to get exactly what i want.
Ohh you should absolutely go for it DMV! Sewing is great. Too bad they don't really sell any clothing fabrics in here, I'd sew everything myself if they did.
My mother taught me to sew. For simple things like pyjama she had a simple formula.
For everything else she used Burda. I guess this is the same:

When I bought myself a machine I paid attention that it was a simple one. The other models were more expensive. And I knew I would not use it that often. Which turned to be right. But my sister and gf used my machine for a while and liked it so they have machines of their own now.
Sometimes when my sister is in love with a bought cloth she changes it at home to get it her way. Or the appropriate size. 😉

I did too way back in the day, even bought a sewing machine in all. I never got around to it. I think it was because the learning process seemed so boring and I didn't have the patience for it. So ya I never got to use my new sewing machine and of course I never learned.I hope you get around to it...I think once you learn the basics, it can be fun.
Same here. I made one slinky top under moms supervision, and that was it. No patience.
But I love to watch her sew, and make things.
