I saw him in concert not long ago and afterwards, when he was down on the floor with everyone, he seemed so spent. I think it is because 'Mickey Avalon' is a spirit that the man channels through his body and it takes up a lot of his energy when he gets on stage. Like wise I think that pretty much anybody can channel Mickey Avalon but you have to give the spirit your body to do it. In exchange you get to be filled up with all that positive energy that it brings, but it may eventually push you completely out if your not careful.
"last night, a glass pipe and a flash light, cracked my crown and left me down with a black eye. The bad guy, walkin' over land mines, who cant die, but still tries. Cause its all the same when they call my name, Mickey Avalon hustler hall of fame. There aint no ball n chain holding me down I got a, golden smile and a platinum frown".

Before his musical career took off, Mickey Avalon was an aspiring Orthodox rabbi-turned crackhead & heroin-addicted Los Angeles male prostitute in his late teens and then moved away & got married/had kids sometime in his 20s(according to him, Wikipedia etc).

Now, I've certainly known wild & crazy Sags in my time, but their life stories aren't anywhere near THAT over-the-top. LOL

jupiter is definitely on his side.

I've read that stuff about Mickey and though some of it might be true, I think he has exaggerated his past a lot to fit the Mickey Avalon mystique. Again, I saw him in concert and he obviously does not do many drugs, he looks very healthy/strong and does not have any track marks on his arm or anything. If he ever was in to hard drugs it was in his distant past. No hard drug user can be a successful musician. Just look at all the ones that were, Cobain, Smith, Hendrix, Stanley, Morrison. Need I say more? All their bands fell apart...
