Hi all...just replied to a few posts which got me thinking...do we and how many of us actually believe we have a soul.

I do, and because I do I know that it is more powerful than and above the physical realm of life otherwise known as the earth and the universe. I know this because I know as do you that life on earth is a countdown to death from the moment we are born but our souls live on and will have many bodies and die many times as humans before learning enough goodwill to actually break free from the shackles of the physical realm.

Here on earth things are set and are constant, there are rules that we all are bound by. Sharp knives cut through our skin, water makes us wet, the sun sustains life, gravity sends anything with a mass crashing back to ground level etc....

The fact that I know this along with my soul makes my life here on earth a lot easier to understand...especially in times of hardship and sorrow however just as painful, which is part of the lesson I'd say.
I find it easier to accept the difficulties of life because I realise it is all part of a journey I HAVE to take in order that my soul learn not to hate, not to kill, not to bring harm to anything in order that I have earned and am granted free passage from this place where we are bound by the constants and am allowed free will to do as I please in a place where all is perfect and just...

Nirvana...Heavan...call it what you will...my question is this...

Even if this place doesn't exist...is it not better to believe in and strive for that place regardless and as a result to live my life fairly and in tollerance of society and those around me...

Beautiful. I have to believe I have a soul because none of this human experience has a meaning otherwise. There has to be a reason that I am striving to be better, to be more compassionate, understanding, forgiving, and tolerant. Money, property and prestige doesn't get it, but spiritual growth does for me. It is the only thing that makes sense, and gives me reprieve from my own failings and those around me. I believe with all my heart that I choose to be here with these people, with these circumstances, with these challenges to learn. J.
