He did this during our "relationship" to test me I thought maybe that's the way he goes around things so I approached it like this

Like I said, the only issue is idk how will he take it. I do love to make things clear in any kind of relationship but I don't want to make another person feel rejected straight to their face.

No, no I just don't really have any feelings for him anymore, ignoring him is not a game, I just don't feel like talking to him as much

Recently I had a thing with a guy with many Scorpio placements (Sun/Moon/Mercury) and unfortunatelly due to a lot of his mind games we kind of fell out and I lost that spark I had for him so since our communication wasn't that great to begin with, I chose to just stop contacting him thinking it will be easier for him to cool off and I won't be forced to tell him "hey I don't like you anymore". So 10 days went by and I thought it worked but he actally texted me this morning, being moody and distant to which I answered friendly and warmly, saying I haven't had much time to talk and that I probably won't for the next few weeks due to my work and he's like "oh that's fine, I just thought of you today and wanted to see how's it going"
So my dillema here is, do I continue on ignoring him like I wanted to or do I openly tell him that I'm not interested anymore.
I feel like the second option might hurt his pride or even his feelings and I really don't want to do that but idk how he'll react to ignoring.
If it were any other person I wouldn't act childish and give them the silent treatment but with him there's just not the right way to go about the situation.
