To me a slut is a slut..male or female..gay or straight or bi. HOWEVER, sluts in my definition, are those who use sex to fill either low self-esteem, or a desperate fear of being alone. Someone who knows what they want, and goes after it to fulfill a physical need with different people..to me that is just someone who takes charge. 🙂

This double standard is B.S. And I've always hated it. Women have sexual needs just as men do. Because we live in a patriarchal society that has tried to control women, and particularly their sexuality, for centuries this is one of the little results of that. It's okay for men, but not women. It's okay for men to "use" women for a purely physical reason, but it is CERTAINLY not okay for women to do the same.

Riiiight. Anyway, I do my part to kill this stupid "rule" whenever possible. If I want sex, I go get it. If I think a man is a slut, I call him a slut. It's not going to work overnight but it's a start.

i think it's not fair to call a woman a slut and not to call a man the same, in my book a man can be a slut just as a woman can but why is it women get treated like crap and men get congradulated? that makes no sense to me and its unfair. Its called being insecured!! When a man sleeps with a woman and then talks bad about her but yet continues to be with her, there are several reasons why? Either, He really likes her and can't admit to it. She may have laid it on the table and told him " It is what it is" and she is in full control of the relationship, or it just can be that nothing has happened between the two and his manhood is threaten making others believe that something did. well..well...well.....cancerlady..i've been having this kinda ques in my mind ever since i was 13/14...when one of my friend asked me. and i've been telling this to my friends asking for their opinions..but still couldnt get an answer out of it.

scorpio 85, I am in totally agreement with you in regards to some women putting their selves out there in better terms (get dogged out!) I believe that when you do see on the internet the exposure of them selves for the lack of not having any morals is a useless way of getting attention. The men see only that! They have no brains etc... In all reality, I believe they have given up on themselves for being on the receiving end to be loved and respected for the person they truely are. It might be because of their social status. People today and I am talking both male and female have joined the ranks of well if I cant beat them, I'll join them. Its sad to say, but the truth sometimes requires a little pain. Whatever pride that was within themselves, they rather tuck it in up under a bed instead of lying in the bed they made for themselves. Love is suppose to make the world go round, not being joined by the hips as an excuse......
