How to Handle a Racist Remark at Work

Experiencing a racist remark at work can be upsetting. It is important to address the situation by documenting the incident, speaking to a supervisor or HR, and understanding your rights. Seeking support from colleagues or professional resources can also help you navigate the emotional impact.

That's totally offensive, if I were you, I'd complain and get that person either demoted or fired. The way things are going now on both main street and wall street, there's no room for stuff like this anymore.

What happened to cause a reaction like that, I'm just curious

Hmmm...I think I'm a little more snide than most people. So before telling, I would've put my co-worker on blast by asking her what she'd like to do in honor of our boss. Make her feel small and immature BEFORE reporting her.

But that's just me. Keep your head up and tell her to get her head out of her a**.

would you believe it was a black person that said itβ€”?

Of course I do πŸ™‚ Race has not to do with an offensive remark. People feel how ever they feel regardless of whatever. Most of the time people with the strongest feelings about their own, how about that πŸ˜‰ I learned this in one of my social science courses πŸ˜„ πŸ˜„ πŸ˜„

That course was fun, I want to take that class again lol

You know MsPisces sometimes you need to shut the hell up. I don't care that your father is black. Sometimes you sound so damn RACIST!

FYI The "N" is not used as a JOKE, it's mainly used when someone is MAD! as in this case on dward417 job the girl was apparently upset about something and used the N word to raise a commotion.

I wonder how you would feel is someone called you a Half Breed Mixed up BITCH!

You must already know that I don't LIKE YOUR FAKE ASS

cappy i need to take that class too...LOL

hahahaha, I had the coolest prof man, he was so cool πŸ˜„ Plus we learned a great deal. Some stuff I aready knew because I have an open-mind about all human relations type stuff, but still the class is cool πŸ˜„

Actually, I find it disturbing how every time there's talks about culture on DXP people get all bent-out-shape or it turns into some kind of war-of-words. I like to think that people can talk sensibly about any subject without going a-wall lol!!!

There are a few others that need to take the course too, but I'm not sure how long they'd last LOL!!!

When I was a kid (12 -13)I was a huge fan of hers. Now I can't stand her.

She was cool until recently. I'm not sure, it seems like she doesn't want to evolve, she's trying to remain the same. I'm not sure but I don't like, "Touch My Body" hahaha, I don't like that song one bit.

"We Belong Together" was awesome πŸ˜„

Really? "Touch My Body" was a complete turn off for me LOL, and then her other one she put out didn't get me either. I'm not sure whats going lol

But I love Rihanna -- 'Disturbia' is my favorite song so far.

"would you believe it was a black person that said itβ€”?"

yeah, a non-black person wouldn't care to make a distinction between a house n versus a non-house n.

it always amuses me to see people trying to think they're better than others of the same race. Very common human phenomenon.

Ms.FakeAss

Why are you still harping on what I said apparently you don't "brush stuff off" . I am over what I said to you, You now know that I don't like you, you are fake, so if you are so used to brushing shit off when people talk about you then move the fuck on and talk about something else, because your comments mean nothing to me. So as of right know you have never seen me before, don't comment on my comments don't do nothing where I am concern and we will get along just find on this site.

i don't think she's fake.

she just happens to be very disconnected (pisces or aquarius, or both?) from a lot of things that really offend and inflame a lot of other people. great for analysis, not so great for winning over others.
