Based on my rather crude research - Caps happen to be the most formidable boxers, or so it seems at least. Though you may find a lot of Taureans, Virgos and Aries as well.
No I haven't seen the movie Notso - But U got me interested so I may have to buy a DVD now. Just finished reading about it though - any movie starring Russell Crowe must be a special. They dont call him for ordinary jobs rt ? 😉
The place which is shown in the clip is my home-town where I grew up. Itz famous for producing boxers.
DCji aap Pluto ka avatar ho isme mujhe kamm hi doubt hai 😉 SO howz life ?
Yea this guy is quite intelligent in his boxing style - relies more on tactics than pure brawn and bravado. But itz a setback anyways ...hope these lads can bring gold in London next time. He has done some modeling assignments as well if you weren't aware...am sure now he can bag quite a few lucrative offers now ...lol
So Ur mom was a chief-guest ...makes me imagine Ur political clout 😉
"So we actually managed to get 3 medals this year"
Yes Xun and ppl ou there are already exuberant ...well they ought to be because itz some achievement by our standards. Otherwise it still looks like a tiny speck.
"those idiots in the system not played their usual politics"
Sometimes I wouldn't even want to look back at that system - there was a time when I used to get all frustrated and worked up but now when I think of it it looks funny and amusing. Don't even have any expressions left...
"actually not very political for that matter, lol. but official one"
Yeah , I could guess as much - nonetheless the clout still remains 😉 And I see no harm in trying that recipe ...lol
"you are from his home town, did you learn boxing as well"
LOL...am not a Jat U see - and I would rather prefer to study the theory of violence than get into one 😉
"for an indian wedding for SS, she does not know what she has just asked for"
Haa Haa...I really cant imagine Notso weighned down by all that gold and bridal jewellery - plus she wouldn't be able to disentangle herself from the red attire !
" But then again, sometimes I think it really isnt a big deal"
Well, yes if U think of it as a factory model - put millions through an effective/efficient system ( devoid of nepotism ), and somebody will deliver. The biggest difference between China and India is how these two countries treat "dissent" - we dither when faced with it whereas the Chinese simply crush it.
Yes, we are competitive but we don't have to invent all things good - if therez an existing standard like Olympics and if we aren't there, then are we doing it as a thought-out policy ? It defnitely is a measure of Ur capability to plan and manage a program, but if U refuse to compete, then I would presume it as a dereliction.
How many games did China or South Korea invent ? I guess they are still in the league.
What about Hockey for which we have gold medals more than any country in the world and this time we couldn't even qualify ?
Medal count is "one of the" KPIs and I for one definitely see it as a positive indicator.
I agree with Ur point that we have limited resources and had we been putting those in right places, we wouldn't be having this discussion. And there are other obstacles as well - man-made constraints : no urgency to copy what is already successful, half of them wont eat meat, no readiness to learn ...
"Or no idea about what goes on? Not enough research or access to information?"
Absolutely - clueless many of them would be. And trust me - there are some who would have an extra belief in pulling it off on their own. Somehow I feel that we recognize success only when itz there and most of the times we have no idea on how to define and court it.

Rome wasn't built in a day, Gaurav. Winning medals is more than just having a huge talent-pool, it's also about having infrastructure, that is, having facilities, trainers, and the such. The more internationally-competitive sportsmen you have right now, the more talented trainers you'll have later on, I think. I'm not sure how many sportsmen become trainers when they end their careets, but more medals usually means more money for the sport, so it's a step in the right direction.
What would happen to such a talent in a developed country - spotted early by a top trainer and inducted into an academy right away.
What would happen to such a talent in a proactively aspiring country - spotted by locals and quickly whisked away by zealous officials to be a part of a policy driven Olympic program - they have established business processes I would say.
And nobody knows what actuallay happened to such a talent in our country. I may be going overboard here, but honestly what we lack is - vision and then processes.
The olympics is only a reflection of a nation's pride, it has nothing to do with whether a nation is powerful or not. Personally, I find it is waste of time for China to invest so much in the Olympics just to "look good" internationally. And the over competitveness of Olympics really exemplify thew wrong values, such as the fear and lack of tolerance for failure, and overcompetition for something completely insignificant. The olympic diving is a reflection of this. One small mistake and make great splash, and the olympic swimmer lost like 20 points in his score. For many athletes, its a one in a lifetime chance, if you blow it, your life is pretty much over.
