This is so confusing me... Trying to connect Taurus with the ninth house. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Self-worth is the opinion you have about yourself and the value you place on yourself. It cannot be taken from you. You can't lose it, but can lose sight of it. You can forget your value. Sense of value is an understanding of what is important. Values reach beyond ourselves. They are the glue that holds civilizations together. My second house is ruled by Libra, with Venus in Taurus ninth house. I hate reading about the second house like "When you're discussing the 2nd house, you have to talk money". If that's how you see value all around and in your possessions... I just shake my head and go really? I've lived all over the country... Traveled like a gypsy, met people from all walks of life... Never once did I pack heavy because its a burden to carry too much goods lol. Poor excuse for a Cancer I know, must be from having Sagittarius on the fourth house cusp, like nice open spaces, FAR away from home on adventures. PLUS I do got two Sagittarian Parents. I find it funny that my friend Sara who I'm visiting right now can't stand money and it comes to her like no mans business. Same with my dad, the man goes though money like water but somehow never stresses over it, always comes when needed. Houses and foundations are what you make of it. You can be homeless, houseless, or residentially challenged... There all different states of minds.
—You almost have to step outside yourself and look at you as if you were someone else you really care about and really want to protect. Would you let someone take advantage of that person? Would you let someone use that person you really care about? Or would you speak up for them? If it was someone else you care about, you'd say something. I know you would. Okay, now put yourself back in that body. That person is you. Stand up and tell 'em, "Enough!?? ?? Queen Latifah
Taurus doesn't have need for confirmation of her own values by others. Taurus on the cusp is where you need to understand value and worth, and have prosperity consciousness. Now how does that translate to the ninth house? I have a definite love for other cultures and also find it hard to be judgmental towards anyone, even bums on the street. I don't care about the pigmentation of ones skin, or somebodies credence, as I can't know another persons comprehension or perception of the world.
Not my place to play slave driver this lifetime lol. I used to work with this chick who was completely mentally challenged, I was kind of jealous about how the simple things in life brought her satisfaction. And she knew right from wrong thats all that matters. Simple. That's why I embrace the simple thing in life, like smelling the roses or sharing a hug.
Venus is also a repository of concrete knowledge. She gains her understanding of knowledge through her senses, and is the source of the intelligent mind. Taurus on the ninth house cusp - you won't be satisfied with dreaming of far away cultures or reading about them in a book. You want to GO to the pyramids and smell the mustiness of the underground tombs, touch the damp walls with your fingers, see how big they are with your own eyes, feel the sun burning down on your skin. And when there're places that cannot be reached by foot, plane, car or boat, i travel by dreaming. Having a Taurian ninth house gives capacity to savoir everything physical and sensual on a very mental level.
NOW This is where the confusing part comes into play. How do you connect spirit with matter? Taurus-Sagittarius? Theres two forms of Venus. Aphrodite Urania, signifying "heavenly" or "spiritual", being born from the castration of Ouranos (Uranus) meaning "sky" or "heaven", when his testicles fall into the ocean. She was bore without a mother, BUT Ouranos was split out of Gaia "Earth". This makes Venus indirectly linked to both the "Heavens" and "Earth", and that's why some people associate Venus as a "Holy Planet"' being the higher octave or the "Spiritual Earth", As above-As below.
Aphrodite Pandemos, "Aphrodite for all the people" Is her other name. Describing her as the goddess of low sensual pleasures. Linked to the surname Eros, her son who embodies sexual power, tho known as the blindfolded child. If you read the myth of Eros and Psyche, its a story describing the struggle for love and trust, it isn't about sex. Both Aphrodites are dignified in their own right. The sense of duality which is the conflict between desire and spiritual will. One isn't better then the other, since there both aspects of one deity. Just like the Moons three phases: Selene in the sky, Artemis on Earth, Hecate in the lower world.
The only connection I can think of is...Matter is spirit in its simplest form, as spirit is matter in its highest form. Form and matter describe a basic duality in all existence, between the essence or "whatness" of a thing (form) and the stuff that the thing is made of (matter).
I believe all this stuff is from Alice Baileys Esoteric Astrology:
"The mineral kingdom is governed astrologically by Taurus, and there is a symbolic relation between the "eye" in the head of the Bull, the third eye, the light in the head, and the diamond. The consciousness of the Buddha has been called the "diamond-eye." Desire is transmuted into aspiration, darkness gives place to light and illumination, the eye of the Bull is opened which is the spiritual third eye. Taurus—Guards the secret of light and confers illumination upon the initiate. "
From an esoteric astrology point of view, the Path of Discipleship opens up when you link Taurus, Gemini, and Sagittarius. The Forth Ray: Harmony through Conflict, is associated with the signs Taurus, Scorpio, and Sagittarius. They often have artistic talents (as is true of the even numbered rays) and bring beauty to the world. Fourth ray people often experience difficulties in the first half of their life. This is to teach them to find their inner source of truth and harmony. As they find their way more quickly back to center, they often become counselors for others who recognize their sense of inner peace. Negatively, they can get lost in melodrama and mood swings. Positively, they learn to walk the razor??s edge of truth and integrity in life.
"The Taurus arrow of spiritual aspiration returns in Sagittarius as the arrow or shaft of light and of Intuition, lighting the Path ahead. Both Taurus and Sagittarius are challenged with control of speech, which is basically an expression of the Psyche or emotional states and kama-manasic attitudes. Often these two signs tend to be —thoughtless?? in terms of exercising true empathy, making fine psychological distinctions, and exercising discernment."
If any of this made any sense to you smile back at least. Took me some thought and time to write this up. I'm a Cancer Mercury - Not all philosophical like a Sagittarius, but I do love my history and mythology. Most of the time I answer myself down the long road, and don't even realize it. I just don't understand what happens when you put a sign ruling over the 5 senses on a house that is related to the truth, and spiritual thoughts. Deals with the collective mind, as opposed to the individual mind, and is also associated with universal consciousness and social conscience. Taurus the most primal urges, self-oriented intertwined with philosophy, religion and law. It's weird because all the descriptions I've been reading about it seems that the Sagittarius energy draws out the Taurian energy from its usual laziness, and makes it active.
