why wont a taurus guy make the first move?

Im a taurus too, so I understand the whole shyness thing. Weve made it clear that we both really like each other, and we've gotten really close conversation-wise. He talks to all of my friends about me, but when Im around he is completely quite. Why wont he try anything? I've already made it clear that I want him to kiss me but we just end up talking. Why is it so hard?

or.....as a taurus you should know that just liking someone isn't always enough...... for me, I think long-term, and if I made a move [or responded to one] what next? Do I want a relationship, or just what's being offered at the moment? if I want a relationship how far do I want that to go? In the end it's got to be serious for me to even start the ball rolling [even just a kiss] I don't want messy situations...I have enough stress in my life. I may really like someone, but if I see it as a short term-thing [and to me short term is months...maybe even a couple years] then I'd rather "let sleeping dogs lie"

Well, I'm a woman, and since you are a Taurus yourself, as xAngelfishx already implied, you probably know most of this anyway. In general, Taureans just don't like a lot of messiness, meaning, they don't want to put themselves out on the ledge only to have the window be slammed shut and then they are standing out there indefinitely. Taurus people (from my experience) are very cautious about relationships (sometimes to our own disadvantage). We want to know EVERYTHING is going to go ok, and we want all reassurances; which can be annoying to others, because there are no guarantees in life, so it makes it difficult sometimes. We are (in my opinion) worth all of the reassurances that it may take, but it is some work. That's no lie. I know for myself, that it take a lot for me to take that leap an jump off that ledge. I also think that your personal experiences in relationships in general (regardless of your sign) will cloud the way you deal in future relationships.
