-Steve Guthrie is going to be a bodyguard for Paige Madisson who is tangled up in drama with a gang member. Paige’s mother Nola is a rich actress, but also an alcoholic. Her husband Owen has hired a new maid. Owen and Nola discuss/bicker about her drinking and the attempt on Paige’s life.
-Raven Swift and Elliot Dorn are having an affair behind their spouses back. Raven and Elliot wish they could get away together. Elliot is going to put one of his workers, Mickey, in charge of the bar Elliots wife Margo owns when he goes away next weekend.
-Paige continues to be naïve about the Tobias gang and especially gang member Jed despite what her family, Steve, Draper Scott, and Logan Swift are trying to tell her. Then Paige gets a phone call…

Miles & Nicole invite Logan & Raven to dinner despite Miles not being that fond of Raven.
However Raven is hooking up with Elliot….
-Mike & Nancy have dinner at Draper & April's new home and Draper and April talk about the job offer for Draper. This makes dinner a bit awkward..

Logan receives the nomination for him to run for DA. Geraldine urges Raven to put her marriage first, for Logan's career's sake. Margo tries some blackmail to try and make sure Draper Scott is not hired.
Elliott entertains the Swifts and Geraldine at the Unicorn (and flirts with Raven) however an unpleasant call steels him away. Elliott Dorn and Mickey Dials play their card against Antoine. Is Antoine doomed? Margo continues to try and make David to get his partners to not hire Draper. Will her blackmail work?
April fills Margo in on Draper's rejection from Seward, Paxton and Whiteside. Meanwhile, Antoine wants to fill in Margo about Elliot's testimony. When that doesnt work, Antoine confronts Elliott and Mickey over their treachery. How will this confrontation end with a gun involved? Will Paige be okay after Jed tracks her down?
Jed is given the same orders as last time - "Get him (Steve) first", then Paige. Margo makes a slip in front of Nicole. Meanwhile, can April calm her worries? Jed makes an attempt on Paige's life. Can Steve save her while he's being haunted by shooting and killing a teenager? Plus, what shocking secret does Mickey Dials have?
Elliott tries to pull Mickey out of his dark thoughts, whatever they are. Brian goes on and on about Steve's not being a good bodygouard. The past is still haunting Steve. Can Elliott get away from Margo so he and Raven could continue their affair? Plus who is abducted at gunpoint? :O
August 14 1979
Tobias takes Miles to the gravelly ill Louise, while Nicole worries about where Miles has disappeared to. Steve gives Owen the news about leaving the job as Paige's bodyguard. Can Steve get over the past that is holding him back? Deborah meanwhile has some happier past memories with Steve. Will Raven really leave her baby alone to carry on her affair…
August 15 1979
At gunpoint, Miles operates on the dying Louise. Will Nicole report Miles missing? Cliff Nelson and Logan Swift call it an early night; Logan heads home unaware that Raven has left 7 month year old baby Jamey alone so she can have a sexual tryst with Elliot Dorn. Can Raven get back home before Logan does?
August 16 1979
Miles tries to soothe a dying Louise. Louise recalls the events of the night she tried to kill Paige. Nola visits Paige to apologize about getting drunk the night Louise tried to kill her, but also to discourage Paige from being romantically interested in her son Brian Madison. If Louise dies, will Miles also get killed for knowing too much?
August 17 1979
Nicole continues to fret about her husband's fate; Margo and Elliott try to comfort Nicole. Did Miles survive? Who got home first with baby Jamey home alone: Raven or Logan?

Paige foolishly lies to Steve so she can go to "Tobias", jeopardizing her life yet again. Chief Marceau and Deborah Saxon question Miles about his ordeal with Tobias. Draper is trying to get over not getting the job he wanted. Can Raven worm her way back into Logan’s good graces after she left their baby home alone?
August 21 1979
Steve once again has to save Paige. The Madisons cope with yet another shooting in their home, but will Steve stay on as their bodyguard? Elliot finds himself in trouble with yet another girl.
August 22 1979
Brian accuses Paige of being in love with Steve Guthrie. Eddie joyusly surprises the Madissons with his unexpected visit. Margo continues to open up a world of opportunity for April but the stage is being set for another Draper and Margo confrontation. Eddie presents Nola with a movie to star in "The Mansion of the Damned", a movie with a supposed curse on it that has three times before not been completed, once started….
August 23 1979
Draper is furious to learn that April knew that Margo put down 1/3 of the down payment on their home. In a rage Draper calls Margo, and demands to see her right away. Elliot is not sad that Margo is delayed for their get together, and ever happier when Raven shows up, but their secret rendezvous doesn’t go as planned. Can Eddie and Nola sell Owen on producing "Mansion of the Damned." Can Nola fight her alcoholism to find her acting career again?
August 24 1979
Calvin enjoys a visit from his best friend Steve Guthrie. Sarah and Raven fight over Elliott while Nola gets wasted at the bar. Owen is frantic to realize Nola has snuck out. Can someone get through to Nola? The true identity of Tobias is revealed, but who is Tobias?
August 27 1979
Tobias and Paige reunite, but is Tobias really Paige's friend or enemy? Brian & Paige take a distraught Nola home. Raven half-heartedly tries to participate in her family's life. Is Raven starting to giveaway too many signs with her affair?
August 28 1979
Owen agrees to give "The Mansion of the Damned" movie a fair shot for Nola’s sake. There is still tension between Draper and April. Can they work it out? Paige fills in Steve about the last assassin and that Tobias has warned her. What will be the next move for the villainous Tobias?
August 29 1979
The murder plot of Steve and Paige is worked out with Zack, a remaining gang member. It’s a day full of great news for Calvin. A dejected Logan tells Draper how he wishes to adopt Jamey, to be finally known as Jamey's legal father. Will Logan listen to Sarah about her info on Raven? Can April soothe a worried Margo?
August 30 1979
Eddie Vaughn and the Madissons begin work on the "Mansion of the Damned" film which delights Nola. Raven has good news for Elliot, Logan will be out of town campaigning soon. Zack and Mickey are ready to strike to an suspecting Steve and Paige. The stage is set to kill Steve and Paige as a gun goes off…Cliffhanger city

August was pretty good for Edge of Night, but would have been even better without the someone out to kill Paige story. She acts too damn dumb. But also it has been featured the most when most of the other stories are far more interesting. The best being Raven too horny about her affair with Elliot to not only care about Logan, but even her baby. Plus Elliot is just as sleazy as she is cheating on Margo.

Brian relives the traumatic night, from 3 years ago when he learned that Paige, the object of his affection is not his step-sister but blood sister. Nola wants Paige to be in the Mansion of the Damned movie. Mickey and Elliott field questions about the shooting at the Unicorn. Is Steve on to Mickey?
September 4 1979
Steve prepares to leave the Madison mansion, believing Paige is no longer in any danger. Paige plans to see Tobias/Mickey. Raven is planning for her fix of Elliot. Logan and Draper discuss Jamey's adoption. Will Raven’s fake sickness plan work? Will Steve come to a realization about Mickey in time?

Realizing, he has been set up to think he shot a 14 year old with a toy gun, Steve sets out on a quest to get to the truth. Elliot is allegedly going on a trip. Much to April’s surprise, Margo tells her she knows Elliot is fooling around on her. Are Raven and Elliot about to get caught in the act?!

Draper tells April that he will never like Margo. Are Mike and Nancy on to why Draper wasn’t hired? Raven and Elliot are basically caught in the act!

Chief Marceau gets Steve to rejoin the police force. As the Madissons get into the hype of "The Mansion of the Damned" and its peculiar history of deaths, one can't help but wonder if the devil has just issued a warning. Is Logan also on a collision course to find out the truth about Raven and Elliot?!

The jig is up: Watch as Raven's lies no longer work on the betrayed Logan. Phillip Seward, shocks Mike and Nancy with his theory of why David Hansen turned down Draper for the New York job offer. Will Raven use her son as her power move? Will Paige continue to trust Mickey/Tobias?

Mickey wonders whether Paige will be his ally, or his next murder victim. Owen gets Deborah to agree to go out on another dinner date. Draper reveals to Mike Karr that Logan is indeed Jamey's natural father. Will Mike tells Draper why he really lost the job in New York?

Distraught over the news that she has been lied to all her life about her brother's parentage, Paige decides to run away with none other than Tobias! Upset that Deborah won't dine with him, Cliff tracks Deborah down and spies on her as she dines with Owen. Both Raven and Logan prepare for their fight over Jamey.

Mickey/Tobias and Paige are on a collision course with death. Can Steve help in time? Raven continues to play games with Logan where Jamey is concerned. Can Draper and April get through to Raven for baby Jamey’s sake?

Everyone races against time to save Paige who has taken in poison fumes. Tobias' identity is finally revealed. Does Logan have someone new to go against for custody of Jamey?

April Scott shocks Mike Karr. Paige recounts her night of terror with Tobias. Is Paige finally free?

April asks Margo for a leave of absence from WMON in order to start raising Jamey. Sarah has an even bigger shock for Margo where Elliot and Raven are concerned.

Brian and Paige agonize over their predicament. Nola is drawn to the witchcraft in the Mansion of the Damned script. Will Nola’s suspicions about Owen and Deborah be confirmed?

Draper does the unthinkable, and it may cost him April. How will Margo deal with Elliot?

The Edge of Night
Edge of Night was always much different from other soap operas of this time.
Most of the other Soap Operas in the 70's and 80's were focused on high romance and certain popular couples.
EON is a soap opera that focuses on mysterious, crime, and the lives of criminals, cops, and lawyers.
Perhaps it bucking the trend of most other soaps is why it did not make it out alive from the 1980's, but the writing on the show was always great. They knew how to build a story and now we go all the way back to 1979.
