So it appears to be a rye-wheat hybrid beer.
Interesting.
The beer is nicely complex, and it's that clove/banana with earthy notes that is a tricky balance.
The clove/banana is easy-it's the weihenstephaner yeast and the right fermentation temperature.
I went a little heavier on the wheat this time, and it still has mouthfeel.
I'll need to wait a bit longer to see if the earthy notes get more pronounced.
Real shame its not as available anymore.
New beer.
No where near as overhopped as seen in recent trends.
The citrus flavors are really nice.

I don't know if you guys are into meads but I had b.nektars zombie killer and it was awesome. It's a dark cherry flavor and even my boyfriend who has very different beer drinking preferences enjoyed it. It's retired but if you can find it, I think it is worth it.click to expand
