I don't expect him or anyone to love everyone they sleep with or to just stay with a girl forever because he slept with her. This is more of a philosophical debate about the ethics of sleeping with insecure people. He and I have argued about it before.

Touching on the ethics: I get it. It's another fine line. Approaching people that way is the first ingredient in a potentially abusive relationship between people. The guy who sleeps with the fat/nerdy/skinny/whatever-other-form-of-physically-judged-type girl and is only using her for that and once they're in disagreement or she doesn't do something he wants, he spits her flaws back at her or manipulates her into feeling like shit. It's shit behaviour.
Not saying I'm a saint for not doing that, but in the end, if I sleep with someone based on those reasons but still keep an emotional distance while treating her like a human being, letting her have her nut and letting her leave feeling sexy, does it really matter why I slept with her, if we're both happy?

I haven't really noticed a particular pattern. But, I guess one thing that can really tap into my water tendencies is if I feel completely/intuitively understood by her.

There's a lot of people who do it solely for that and lots who are willing to oblige. And it doesnt degrade or demean the other person. It's psychological and stress comes in many forms, whether it be a shitty week on the job or someone shutting their mind up when the PTSD taps in again.
