When a girl asks for your sign?

Is it creepy when a girl jumps out the gate asking for your sign? I was talking with this guy who told me how one girl started up their conversation on Tinder with "What's your sign?" And how it was an immediate turn off. I can understand that, because the perception is that deep belief in the zodiac or horoscope means you're some naive loon. Interesting enough though, he didn't mind talking astrology with me.

Yes it is weird. Most people have no clue so I won't bother..

Hmm idk, I've found most people do at least know their sun sign but I never ask what their sign is, because one, how should I know if you're going to become a friend, lover or just a passerby I knew for a few weeks? And two because I can just find out your bday and look up your sign if I am curious.

But from what he told me, he told her his sign and then she started giving him a full description of what he's like character wise, and then she told him her sign and gave him a description of her. So that was probably the creep factor, considering they had just met lol.

Well, I do mind.
If someone start conversation what your sign and start talking about astrology, I know she's trying to know info about my likes and dislikes or how I behave, where is my mid-heaven, etc.
Family or close friends use it to buy gifts.

If I was starting a date using that, I'll turn off too.

It's just a fine line. How I become aware is if they are somewhat my Co workers or class mates or dorm mates or dxp now. ..it just comes naturally who I click with best maybe be like hey when's your birthday..

On certain dating sites they have a spot for astrology though. So no guessing what sign you are lots of people posts it.

I did that once on a dating site I put my Mars and Mercury and a brief description of traits or something and I got two replies both of them saying they had a bad experience with my sign. So I had to explain it my way. But I didn't talk to them for long.

IDK it's only happened a few times.

If it happened now I'd just say I was a Gemini with a Leo moon and Venus in Gemini. She'd probably run away.

Based on the negative feedback I get from guys I won't mention it until I decided he is open to it.

Interesting take on it, see I would look at it as "this girl is crazy, rather than take time to get to know me, she rather base her entire perception and expectations of me on my sign." I would also think she's a ditz.

Her: so... what's your sign?
me: what sign? draconic? eastern? blah blah blah...
Her: wait how many kinds of signs can there be??
me: well there's.... *goes on to confuse her for a while
Her: Ok Ok I meant the star signs! like aquarius etc
me: oh.... virgo *lifts head up
*sees her running away for her life
Me: at least that lasted for 5 mins (thoughts)
