Compliments

If I wasn't so camera shy, I would post a pic of me. I'm so naturally hot that you'll wet yourself. I'm serious... Every time when I go out with my friends they all tell, "Dude! she's checking you out!", and I'll be like...really..? Believe what you want, I don't care!

Of course virgos love compliments, but only if they are genuine because some of us have excellent bullshit radar.

Like the poster above but way less into myself, My friends used to tell me, 'that girl is checking you out....' but to this day i still can ever tell if a chick is looking at me since when i look at them they arent looking back but then i read that when a woman likes you she will act like she wasnt looking at you when you turn in their direction, so i may seem shy but thats cause i could never tell what the fuck was going on and thought my friends were just messing with me. lol.

I'm not a male, so i'm not sure. But as a female, I don't like compliments, especially the superficial kind. My first thought would be I don't like where the conversation is leading. I'd feel i have to compliment the person also out of politeness, and it might be a white lie and i don't like to lie, ever. My second thought would be is that all you think about? can't we talk about something more substantive? I don't want to think you're shallow. I also resent being introduced as shy. I get that I may give off that impression quite often, but it's because i'd rather sit back and observe, not because i'm not confident about myself, or have low self-esteem. Also, could be I don't find people interesting off the bat. I don't like to talk, not fond of small talk. But I couldn't bite my tongue if i wanted to when there's something worth talking about. this is why I usually have a drink or two in social settings, when i'm buzzed my compliments feel genuine to me, so my conscience would be clear, haha.
