I. Legends Cafe let me and my co-producer/rapper perform one of our little hits last Wednesday. They didn't have to do that...and they showed love. It's a DIVE...which I love playing/performing at...because 1)it's where you pay your dues and 2) you never know who's watching and it makes for good practice.
And..they asked us back. It's free and open mic and never crowded but hey....this is the love of what it is to be a musician/artist/composer. I felt all warm inside(which has been rare considering some setbacks I've had). And it inspired me to crank three more songs.
II. My father sent me an email detailing the things in life he's personally seen me succeed at and why he's proud of me.
III. My father and I are talking more often(civilly and not in some debate or cynical world view conversation) about just about anything. The guy is/has always been a Superman figure to me. I've seen him go through ALOT and just to get positive attention from him as a son(even though I'm 29) for me does wonders for my personal confidence.
IV. My lil sis cooked me those fried oysters and shrimp w'cajun spices just awhile back. I love her cooking, reminds me of my grandmother(paternal). I was heartbroken when she died in 2000 and my lil sis knows that her "food" makes me remember her and the love I felt when in her presence.
V. Yesterday, my friend/co-producer/rapper pointed out that my sound has improved(on my horn) and the last three tunes I wrote(drums and all) have inspired him.

So....I'll be giving back positively because of all I've recieved as of late. After work tomorrow, I'm going to help a local high school band's brass section with their wind ensemble music. And, I'm going to continue with positive reinforcement like I did last time. It's awesome how when kids learn and see it applied(and they see you teaching them with a smile and not a critique or yell) how hungry they get for more and how much they appreciate your time. I was like that once. Ok, rambling...but I needed this smile tonight.

I. That's huge. Many musicians would kill for a bit of a break like that. See it here in NY all of the time. Getting to "residency" status is like winning the freaking lotto.

II. As I've gotten older, I realize how important it is to have your parents by your side (even if it is just one) and how the positive words that they speak can have such an impact on yo

on your life. Especially if they've pointed out something specific. It's those moments that help you to understand just how tuned into your life they are.

III. Isn't that the best? To just have that normal conversation with your parent without the argument/debate. Life is too short. I'm sure your dad realizes that. You come to the point (parent and child) where you say to yourself "whoa, this person won't be here forever. Best to make things work while we've still got time."

IV. Taking it from a slightly different angle, that's what I talk to my friends about all of the time. Being able to pass down the cultural dishes from one generation to the next. I think it's great that your sister can whip up grandma's recipes. This is just one of the many examples of how we DON'T (whole family units) lose our cultural identities. Nice that she did that for you. Never really had cajun food before. Not even gumbo, but there is a nice restaurant called "The Bayou" that everyone's recommending and they say it has every type of hot sauce imaginable. Gonna try it.

V. It really does something for you when someone points out an improvement in some area of your life. It invigorates you and inspires you to wan to be even better.

My sister and I were just talking about that today. How so many kids out here need help and support/mentoring and how that one huge gesture can make a big difference. Using your talent and free time to give back is to me what life is all about. On this show the other night, someone said something to the effect of "service to others is simply our way of paying our rent for our time here on earth" (paraphrasing of course)

Keep smiling.

First of all, I have to say: Very nice topic!

Hmm... where do I start?... I think with the crab... He said to me the most beautiful words that touched my soul. Yesterday we've hugged and I asked him... "You still love me... is it?" And he says "Enough" And I asked "How much enough is?" He says... "Strong enough". And completes with "I feel you close to me".

I remember one thing the crab did for me long time ago. I bought 2 coffees for us. He had to do something so he went ahead. I found the door from the office unlocked, and a little bit opened. He knew I would have my hands occupied, se he opened the door in advance. Such a small thing, brought so much joy into my heart.

And there is another male colleague ( a scorpio). Sometimes he brings me chocolate drink. That is sweet too.

And... for Christmas, my mom (a cancerian) gave me a jewelry box and a little ball with a happy face on it. That was also very very sweet, because I can't remember when was the last time I have received such a great present to meet my desires and tastes. I have the little ball with the happy face at the office, on my desk. The crab just loves it and we always play with it (and have to say... it brings us closer). And he makes funny faces to complete the smiley ball.

Just remembered... my mom told me yesterday about a dream she had. I was holding a white pigeon and wanted to let it go. And she said to me.. don't do that! Look how soft it is, you should keep it! Same day (as I told you at the beginning of the post) met the crab... spent such a great time together at the office... I tried to ignore him... But he started... look I have new shoes... look, I have a new hair cut... look at me! πŸ™‚ My mom's dream fits very well with my intentions to let go to the crab... to distance myself from him.... it's weird... And there is something else... My mom had a brother who died long time ago... she loved him very much and sometimes I think she still suffers, and... the crab shares the same birthday with my uncle... Should it mean something?

Hey AV!

Why thank you.

You're surrounded by water! HA!

Seems like that crabcake has been a point of joy and contention for you all at once. Why haven't you ever dated? Do you like him in that way? I remember you saying on the Cancer board that he told you he was a bad person. Sounds like he's got quite a few demons to excer

to excercise. He's like a little lost boy and he knows that you can anchor him but I think you are doing the right thing by sort of keeping him at bay. He has issues he has to work out for himself. No sense in you trying to be his therapist (why does it seem like Virgals are magnets for those fixer-uppers?)

Yes! They are famous for that "look at me!" act right?! HAAHAHA!!!! They just want attention. Like little children. Why do you say you are going to let him go? He definitely seems to have a sweet side and I can tell that he likes you very much but something isn't working...?

Scorpios bringing you hot chocolate...aaaahhhh...gotta love them scorps. πŸ™‚

I'm not really sure of what your mom's dream can mean but that is seriously eerie. I would say this however; don't manifest your fears by putting too much stock in them. Keep the faith that everything will be fine. Your mom sounds like a typical sweet, nurturing crab and I'm sure she misses her brother dearly. Losing a sibling is never easy.

One of my dear Pisces friends stayed up with all me night and on into the morning to talk and lend an ear.

Hi VB.

Haven't had one of those in a while. Miss those. Especially slumber parties with girlfriends. I was thinking of hosting a William & Kate marriage ceremony TV watching party. Love events like this (especially when royalty and commoners mix). Was too young for Princess Dy but, Kate is the Dy of our generation. Just makes you feel so girly and like anything is possible.

We Virgos are nice aren't we? πŸ˜‰

Just had to post this in here as it's the nicest thing someone said about Virgos most recently (that I've seen). I got it from another website and it touched my heart. How sweet.

"I know a few virgos. They are the most attractive sign to me of all, though I am always going back and forth between my preferences; but I always come back to virgo; I am a pisces, and I love virgos for so many passionate, intense reasons: First of all, they are SO humble, SO cool, and SO precise and true to themselves and others. They are the ones that do not do anything to their own personality, so you can see straight into their heart. They are the ones that were born to assist and to reach out to people. They are incredibly versatile and can think of so many effective solutions to problems. And they REALLY know how to comfort you. They are attractive to me also because of thise amazing subtlety. Being a pisces, I am very sensitive and highly emotional, and it gets pretty rough when I start beating myself up in my head. Nut when a virgo comes along, everything suddenly vanishes, and all I see is this amazing, perfectly composed creature in front of me, being so attentive and observant, that I just can't get away into my mind anymore; I am all theirs, looking into their eyes and not knowing what to say. This is why I love them. Virgos that I know: my art teacher, a teenage friend of mine, and Michael Jackson. :-)"

Out on lunch break with vgf today. It was crowded in the rec bldg we usually go to when the weather is bad, so we ended up sitting on this big window ledge instead of in the cafe. The window was facing so I got a view of another bldg, he got a view over the water. He had some food to eat, I was just having a chai, and he got up to trade places with me since he was busy eating & wanted me to have the view.

That seemed so virgoish to notice and care about a little thing like that. And sweet. I popped into his work area later to thank him properly for being so thoughtful, which made him smile.

Sandy you and that blasted Virgo just needs to go ahead and get married already!!! πŸ™‚

I read somewhere once that V's & C's don't really have to get married because from the start, the relationship is damn near seamless and they behave like 'life partners' even when they are just friends.

Very 'Virgo' of him to give you the view and I'm sure that you being a Cancer would have done the same for him in return.

My vgf does nice things for a lot of people, but doesn't always get thanked for it. I always say that Virgos and Cancers are pretty much the same person underneath it all and I think this is where much of the conflict can come in (sometimes I don't know whether I want to hug or strangle you guys!)

Both signs are naturally altruistic and actually derive much pleasure from being this way.

From what I can tell, you and your VG have a true friendship. My mother always told me that "if you have one real friend, you have a thousand".

My male Virgo 'friend' who I have only been talking to for 5 weeks came round when I was battling to clean my secondhand bike I had bought (since he had said I should get to know it by cleaning it up myself), and without asking him or even suggesting it, and with a bad back, he finished cleaning it for me. I found it very kind and sweet.

Hi Grael,

I have been reading your story and I must say that your VG is a hoot! LOL!

When I read that he had been ejected from art galleries my first thought was "Oh Jesus! Now what in the devil could he have said?!"

I always liken the Virgo tongue to a knife. It can cut so fast, and deep, and hurt like hell. Ouch!

That said, I don't believe in coincidence. Not with situations like these. Don't know what will come of you and him in the future but I believe that the universe put you in his life for a reason. I could only imagine how much pain and fear he must be harboring underneath due to past experiences (and no, that does NOT give him the right to be a jerk sometimes to you or anyone else) and the fact that you have decided to befriend him and excercise such tolerance and perserverance is quite admirable (I would have cut that mutha a long time ago and dumped his tail in the nearest river...I kid. πŸ˜‰)

We normally don't do things for people that we don't care about so the fact that he cleaned your bike for you speaks volumes (and besides...you know we don't like to get our hands dirty, girl!!!)

Stay strong, stand your ground, and don't allow him to damage your self-esteem. Sometimes we are honestly not aware of how much our words can hurt and often need people to teach us or put us in our place (we respect those who can put it down for us with a firm yet gentle hand and you seem to be the perfect combination of F&G).

Hopefully he's already come to the realization that you might just be the only real friend he has in his life.

Hi Vixen,
lol, he was talking tonight actually about the lack of merit in art these days, and how he hasn't been to a gallery since everyone stopped talking to him at the last student exhibition he went to where he asked them what the hell this and that piece was meant to be about and what their point was. He does not hold back at all in situations like that. He has a dislike of security guards as well, I have noticed. I find it funny, I can see him getting tossed out of an art gallery as he is always saying what a load of 'crap' art is these days, and how no-one can come up with anything new, as it has all been done etc. He is the same with music and films as well... says no-one can come up with anything new, as it's all been done before. I tend to tell him, everything in life has been done before, but you still have to carry on living and making the most of it or you end up sitting staring at a wall.

Im dating a Aqua guy with a Virgo moon so I'll put my 10p worth...

It's all the small things with him. Once, we got back from the shop and brought a bottle of wine. I went to the loo and when I got back I found he'd poured me a glass. He observed prior. He found where I keep my cups/glasses without asking which impressed me.

Also, being a clean freak means I like my home to be kept a certain way. Once I ran him a bath and when he was done he folded the towel and flannel and put it on the side of the bath. That was a good move.

He's a gentleman and will open doors, take bags out of my hands..and when I'm stressed out he knows what to say to me to make me smile.

Yesterday when lunchtime came round (I work in the food industry) there was nothing on the menu I really wanted so decided to give it a miss and sit and read for a while....ten minutes later a Virgo friend and colleague placed a fresh pan fried chicken and pepper wrap with mango mayo infont of me. Appart from tasting divine it was a lovely thoughtful thing to do, before I left I ruffled his hair and thanked him for lunch and the smile I got in return was the sweetest and is still bringing a smile to my face now......Underneath that analytical, systematic mind of you peeps there's a really sweet thoughtful side to you that can be very touching....Just thought I'd share that

i like how you state this^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^πŸ™‚ and understand it

virgo male colleaugues helped me to solve a problem ,interrupting their important tasks, putting aside precious minutes from their busy schedule.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
i was taken aback when they did it,because i know they don't like me/i'm not using "like" in the physical context/

i thanked them, but is it possible a simple word like this to reward them?
perhaps it does not express enough my appreciation , could do it in a better way?

Now isn't he the cutest.

Hight time for you to make it happen, girl. πŸ˜‰

my lioness brought me food when i was hungry at work...in the rain...in the middle of the night...and had to use a gps to find me. *sigh* what a sweetheart, i honestly wanted to cry.

This made me all fuzzy inside. What a doll.

Wanted to cry...awwww...I swear you Virgo men with Venus in Scorp. πŸ˜‰

On another note, I'm start'na think that Virgo man/Leo woman is a better pairing than the other way 'round.

That was very nice of them, and a simple "thank you" is enough. That's all we ever want, anyway.

No need for anything more.
