Virguy shut off his emotions

Hi All,

I'm new here on DXP. Last year, virguy confessed that he likes me but didn't want anything serious. Our casual relationship (some physical intimacy, no sex) was on and off until last December when he stopped all contact. Yesterday, I contacted him wanting closure to move on. I asked if he still has feelings for me and he said "not to be harsh, but I shut off my emotions to avoid drama."

My question is how can he just shut off his emotions like that?

He was being gentle, he never had them to turn on.

I thought we had something special going on, but I guess he was just enjoying the "moment" every time we hung out. I got my hopes up for nothing. I'm glad that I'm waking up and not continuing with this.
