From Taurus to Pisces

You gave me life one day beside the ocean.

I see you in the curve of lips, the sweep of brow, the hue of eyes.
The smattering of freckles and the shape of my hands.
In infancy I slumbered on your chest.
Lulled by breath, scent and the strong beats of your heart.
Enveloped in love.
One night I tried to slip away. You would not allow it, breathing
For me.
Willing Death itself to turn away from your beloved.
You gave me life again.
In girlhood you and I would walk and talk, two raven haired
Beings in harmony.
My small hand in yours chattering like a magpie or in silence.
It mattered not.
Your love for me shining within. Without. My joy shining from me
Like purest sunlight.
I never questioned love wrapped in those arms, your beard resting on the top of
My sun warmed hair.
A kiss on the cheek, with utter acceptance. Every cell of me
Dancing.
Now that I am grown I understand with such clarity,
All that you have done for me.
Even now.
This bond will never break. It still shines on, from your eyes
To mine.
You will ever be my first and truest love.
My gratitude for everything you are.
The truest gift I possess..
