By the way Parallax, Phoenix rising is right you should concider doing stand up. Boy can you churt out a quick tale, what a great imagination. Anyway I am posting to let you guys know about some web sites I have found that will direct someone to the right places. You can learn, practice, submit and hopefully get published on merrit of the work sent in. Oh yes hello Don, I am new to this site so I haven't been posting long. Just wanted to say the poem you submitted was a good read. Is it one of your pieces? I enjoyed it and hope to see more. Phoenix rising I think you were the one that had asked me to list the web sites I had found so here it goes. I have one or two still to refind but I will list what I have.

On Yahoo Search I entered: Legitimate Poetry Sites, my research is as follows.
The sites that I concider worth keeping are listed here. On the search page go to

1. "cool sites directory".
www.hits4me.com/cool.asp?MID=165635

Poetry Junction
2. poetryjunction.tripod.com

Then under: Poetry and literature go to
3.www.web.com/wordings/artofwrite/poetrylinks.html

Poetry Works-Sol Magazine 4.http://www.sol-manazine.org<BR>
Caution
5. http://www.laurawrites.net/scum.html<BR>
Poetry Today Online
6. www.poetrytodayonline.com (They interview publishers on the internet-there is a wealth of information there.

7. Fellowship of Christian Writers.
http://fawreadywriter.com. They have instructions and advise on how to advance yourself.

Well there it is, hope there is something there that will be of help. I feel it will help me. They list the steps to take to get published by honest publishers. And what to look out for regarding the company's reputation. They also list the companies that you should stay away from and why. Like I said I do hope there is something listed there that will help at least one of you. Ta Ta for now. TW2

Sorry I have been gone for awhile, been a little under the weather, I am on the mend now though. My writing is going fine-I am working on a new project. It's more in the relm of fantasy and metaphor. There is a writer that inspired the piece. I just had to try my hand at a different style . Oh yea check out my post on the cancer site-I think you will enjoy it. I shared a little story that happened to me one time, it is on page 2. I will share my new poem with you soon ok. Its kind of a long one though, seems I cant cut them down enough sometimes. It takes me months to finish a piece, as alot of work and re writing goes into them. (It's kinda fun though). I am learning all the while and my vocabulary is growing as well. I feel like the baby in the group, but that's ok. First you must crawl before you can walk. There is one more site but I will have to find it again, it has a panel that will evaluate your work for free. The panel is made up of published poets, writers, and teachers. I will let you know when I find it again. Also one of the sites I listed will not accept your stuff unless it is pretty good. They very clearly outline what they are looking for regarding anything being submitted. I included this site because I think the work I have read here is worthy of sending, and I have read alot of different works. Even I know when something is good. Well I gotta run my little nephew may be having a bad reaction to some mesquito spray my sister used on him while fishing. I am going down to be with them at the doctors office, as she is a little worried about him. And so am I. Bye for now-TW2
Velvet whispers
Inaudible murmuring
Stifled secrets

Indigo shadows veil desperation
Obscuring desire

In a lucid azure dream
I found you

Under a sapphire sky.

Well, it so happens that I was asked my permission to dedicate 2 whole pages to me in an upcoming book called The International Who's Who of Poetry with one of the pages being my poem and the other page being a biography of me. Woohoo! (Hopefully it's n

Some people are so shy about what they write, they won't share it...

I ask: why do you write if not to be read?

I'm suffering from a little writers block. I'd would *appreciate* any help given by the inspiration dxpians. The piece is humor.

What would a good break-up speech sound like if it is heard over the answering machine? I want her to be cold and s

Have been away for a few days & haven't checked in. I am going to the local "book mine" tomorrow & will look for your suggestion. Sounds like something I'd enjoy! For me, besides dialogue, it's all about the characters & how the author describes them. Wil

You will not tame this sea
either by humility or rapture.
But you can laugh
in its face.

Laughter
was invented by those
who live briefly
as a burst of laughter.

The eternal sea
will never learn to laugh.
