I want to shyly slip my hand into yours and tell you what I cannot say without worrying about stepping wrong,
Insecurity and doubt winding round my throat
Rendering me mute.
Look into my eyes, deep.
Dark green band, feathering into moss, into brown.
See my pupils expand as I pull you down into me.

I want to tell you that my pride, my awful unending pride..
The mantle that keeps me warm on a chill night,
Is as dust in the radiance of your voice.

That just speaking with you makes my soul soar.
Laughing with you a joy.

Water sliding over Earth,
Earth cradling Water,

Coalesces Fire.
Phoenix risen from the ash,
To take flight.
