How to support a cap man in his difficult time?

Hey caps... so here is a guy (same guy) who asked me to be patient with him and give him time because his life is a total mess right now... and after a month of no proper communication (because i thought he wants space) .. he called and we spoke and he asked me to be beside him and support him .. but he is still so distant and quite ...
i’m a bit lost in here not sure what he wants or how to do it .. so may you give me a useful advice?

I want to be beside him ofc. I really do want to do it right .. i love him and i care about him so much .. it is just that i dont get why he is being this distant but i’m happy that he wants me beside him you know.. hence I’m confused ..

When you say his life is a mess, what do you mean by it?
Just be there? Like just listen or whatever. Frequently say "You know I'm here for you". Randomly put your hand on his shoulder. Send him a text every few days to ask about his day. That's it, really. Don't worry about him being quiet. He will open up when or if he wants. You can't control that.

That's perfect.. if he asked you to be support him then ask what kind of actions do you consider as support?

awww he sounds so innocent and sweet. I love Cap energy when they open up like that.
So he thinks you know him well enough... what do you think would be some things he'd appreciate and consider as supportive?
I think basically he wants you to be there when he does reach out and not be mean about him being distant or asking for things. Basically being a good friend and understanding of his situation. Check up on him once in a while without pressuring for a lot of communication. Something like hope your day is going well! Thinking of you! So he doesn't have to respond of he's not in the space to but still feels like you care.
wow, I am in pretty much same position with cap man! Its been very quiet....not really texting/calling. Hopefully things calm for your cap and my cap dude too. Its been a very hectic few seasons!
